"Look who we got here" a male voice says, causing me and James to pull away from our hug, both of us embarassed.
A man in his probably 40s is standing in front of us. He has dark skin and black long curly hair. He's all dressed up in black, also wearing black sunglasses and a black leather jacket. From the look on his face I can get he probably knows James.
"I gotta go" I quietly say, feeling uncomfortable being in the same room as that man.
"Oh, no, please, stay. I'm here for you" he says back grabbing my arm, I quickly pull it away from his arms, looking helplessly at James.
"What can we do for you, Richie?" he soon asks, the man stares at me and then slowly at him.
"I've heard that this pretty girl here is a good murderer. She knows how not to leave evidence, but, after all, she has learnt from the best. From our beloved Master, Mr.March"
"What do you want from me?" I ask, feeling anxious for some reason.
"I want you to be my partner in crime. Mr.March probably hasn't told you that the only way you could leave this Hotel after your death is to come with me or with any other dead killer who's not currently living here. And I've heard you tried to leave, you ran away. I can bring you out of this place, but you'll have to work for me"
I slowly look at James, raising an eyebrow. He soon looks down with a weak frown, nodding at me. I take a quick glance at Richie, who's still waiting for me to answer.
"It sounds like a good plan. Leaving it all behind by walking away from this place. There's just a little problem. You're a day late"
"I don't think so. You can't have the feeling of wanting to run away when you feel sad and the feeling of wanting to stay when you feel good. It doesn't work like that. I'm your last chance, your only way to get out of here"
"What are you offering me exactly?" I ask, interested.
"To work for me, kill for me. But mostly, I'm taking you away from this place. There's only a bad side. If you walk out of this Hotel, you won't be coming back. Ever"
"So it's staying forever or being gone forever?"
"Exactly, no shortcuts. You'll have to give me your answer by tonight's dinner, I'll be waiting" he says with a smirk, walking away.
It sounds like a good plan indeed. But, what are the pros? And what the cons?
Starting from the pros, I won't be forced to be stuck here and wander around for eternity. Maybe I would have to kill less, he hasn't really talked about this, quantity or quality? I will be able to see and visit Rocky, attend a Criminology class or course, achieve something in my life. But, again, would that even make sense? I'm dead anyway, nothing can change that. I would probably just be a ghost wandering around in the city's streets, for years, and years, and years. Seeing people I know realizing themselves in life, watching them die. Would I be able to take all that?
