Chapter 26: Failed Awakening

[KAITLIN'S P.O.V.]

Plop...

Swish...

Plop...

I watch Lucifer froze the ball of water like the ones he did earlier when I woke up although this time, the crystal balls are getting a lot more compared to before.

Slowly, Lucifer took one crystal ball in his hand and a red flame suddenly ignites illuminating the inside of the ball.

The red flame was floating inside the ball without even harming it. Its as if the two different element were one as they co exist with one another.

Letting the ball float once again, he took another one and did the same process. Lucifer repeatedly did it until every ball was lighted

Now the river is lighted by the floating balls but the curious thing wasn't the fact of what he is doing instead it was why he was doing it in broad daylight.

Seeing as I had nothing to lose seeing as I'm still caged with the water barrier, I asked him "Why are you doing that when its broad daylight?"

Lucifer turn around to wickedly smile at me and said "Nothing much, I just need to do a little special charm"

"Charm?" Lucifer nods his head in confirmation but it only made me more curious "What for?"

"A lot of things" He slowly walk towards where I was as he listed some of the things he needed it for "One is for your guardians for them not to sense that I'm here with you"

Maybe seeing my confused look made him realized something that I'm completely not aware of.

"You see, you're quite special that's why they" when he said the word them, he opened his palm and an image of 7 people came to view "guard you in secrecy"

Shockingly, I knew some of those people while the others were an angel that I'm not aware of.

Professor Gabriel, James, Nick and also the angel the was by my side when I was in pain were the only ones I knew.

"I..." I started but no more words would come out at all bug Lucifer seems to know why I'm trying to say.

"Like I said, you're special and as you can see, they are the ones who guards you. For they are the angels sent by your father"

"Angels? Father? But some of those are not angels just ordinary people and even my father. So how can you say such a thing?" I reasoned out firmly but Lucifer click his tongue before saying "Like I said before, your memories are sealed which is why you don't remember anything"

"And besides where's the fun with you knowing all those stuff" Lucifer grins

"I.. I..." I stuttered, confused by all the information from Lucifer.

"Do you want to know? To understand?" Lucifer stop in front of me and reach his hand "Then make a deal with me"

I look at his hand and turn to him"Deal?"

"Yes, a deal with me" he cup my check with his outreach hand and look me in the eye "I'll grant your desire to know everything you want and you'll grant my wish, it's a win-win situation isn't it?"

The offer was too tempting not to accept since everything had been a mystery and unreal to me.

My thoughts urge me to accept the deal but at the back of my mind, I knew that something was missing.

CRACK....

One of the lit crystal ball suddenly had a crack. Luc step away from me and check what happened to the ball.

"Hmm... They seem to be restless" Luc grinned my way as if he was playing a fun game.

"Who?" I ask in curiosity and is if he was expecting my question, Luc's smile became quite sinister.

"If I were to answer that question, does it mean you're agreeing to the deal?"

"No" I shuffled in my seat as he watch me without even batting an eyelash

"Then I believe, I can't do so princess" Luc turned his back towards me and stretch his arm towards the crystal balls.

Slowly, cold breeze envelope the whole place and the once crack crystal ball became unharmed while the sun suddenly started to get darker by the minute.

Not to long, a red moon appeared in the pitch black sky.

I watched it with fascination and is if hypnotized by the red moon, my body moved on its own.

The ball of water that had caged me was gone as I headed towards the river without breaking away from the red moon.

Slowly, I became nearer to the river where Luc watch me with his sinister grin.

And as I walk above the water of the river , Luc guided me with the crystal ball to the center.

"Slowly and you'll awaken, Kaitlin" Luc whispered in the cold air.

Once I had reached the center, the crystal ball encircled me as I felt something warm envelope my whole body.

As if controlled by an invincible force, my hand touch one crystal ball and the red light that Lucifer had ignited became intense.

The whole crystal was now engulfed by the red flame. I did it repeatedly to the others although the difference is that the red flame are replace with other colored flame.

When I was about to touch the last crystal a voice inside my head spoke "It's not time yet" and the all of the crystals shatter.

Lucifer watch in amazement knowing full well that he forcefully tried to awaken Kaitlin's power and yet it didn't succeed since it overpowered his power.

"Even though you're unconsciously using your power due to my hypnotism and yet you can still control parts of your mind" Luc told Kaitlin who was by then watching him with confusion.

"Why?" It was the only word she could utter.

"Soon Kaitlin" in an instant he was already in front of her, Kaitlin didn't flinch nor did she jumped in surprise it felt like she knew that he'll suddenly appear in front of her.

Lucifer touch her cheek gently and looked at her eyes with adoration "I'll reveal everything to you soon and by then, I hope you're awaken."

And just like that, everything black out from Kaitlin's view as she feel asleep and Lucifer held her in his arms.

"And when you're awaken, I'll make sure that you won't make the same mistake as what happened a decades ago"
