Chapter 14: Secret

[ ASHER'S P.O.V. ]

The city lights shines brighter like the night sky above as I observe it with boredom.

Today, I'm on a hunt to ease the pent up anger that I've been holding for so long and yet I can't seem to find the right prey that could satisfy my thirst for blood.

I've already manage to kill a lot for this year however it wasn't enough for it to completely vanish especially when the day passes by , it would only grow stronger making it harder to suppress!.

For 8 years, I've done nothing but kill people and do my brother's bidding even if its frustratingly nothing but bull.

Seriously, I need to find something/someone that could tame my thirst and like a flash, Kaitlin's face came into mind.

My anger subsided for quite awhile as I recall the first night that we had met for so long, the first time that I was able to hold her close without any restraint and also the first time that I had interacted with her even though in the end we were greatly disturb by those pathetic humans.

She has grown to be a breathtakingly beautiful woman and yet I can't have her.

I gaze at my hands, the hands that held her tight. closing my hands, the only thought that I have is.

'She'll be by my side one day'

A large booming sound from the north caught my attention. I flip my wings and soar to see what's happening.

When I arrive at the scene, fire was everywhere within the building. It was slowly eating it away.

Down below, I can see people screaming in panic while others are trying to put the fire out.

Seeing all this only amuses me but when the smell of blood reach my nose, I immediately know what to do.

I plunge myself through the glass window of the burning building to look for people that I can kill.

The fire that surrounds the building slowly crawl right up to me but fire does not do any harm on my body.

Slowly, I let myself roam around as I come upon a lady that is laying on the ground.

Half of her body has cuts and bruised from the fire. Blood ooze from her, enticing me.

I walk towards her way and crouch down to her level.

"H..el...p...me" she tried to speak but her words are unclear for she was growing too weak.

"Hold on, I'll help you" I played along for my amusement but sad to say my thirst for blood is needed to be famish.

I lead my hand towards where her heart is and touch it, I could feel its beating and as much as this amuses me, it has to end.

And that's why I can feel her heart slowly beating from my touch.

She look at me wide eyed as her eyes shows what she's feeling which is panic. Yes, panic for her dear life and knowing this only made me smirk.

"Although, I must say that I'm the wrong person to do so since I'm the angel of death" at that said her heart stop beating.

Now, the lady in front of me is no more but a cold corpse.

Feeling the presence of other demons nearing, I stand up from my position and walk towards the edge of the building.

And true enough, Demons are flying towards my way but their reason for coming is quite different from what I seem to expect.

Once all of them landed, they bow their heads in respect as their leader step up in front to speak their reason.
