Chapter 19: Hurt

[KAITLIN'S P.O.V.]

Who would have thought that being with Cade is like being with a mischievous kid with lots of crazy ideas.

It was an unexpected revelation for we never got the chance to be alone and now that it happened, I can't seem to find an excuse to not laugh.

Whenever he got the chance, he would seize it and do some crazy stuffs just like when we were in the hallways,where lots of portraits are hung, he would try to make some crazy stories from each one of it.

For example, there's a portrait of a mermaid holding a jar while sitting at a rock.

Cade said that the mermaid was thinking if she would use it as a water jar to use when she's bathing and the funny part is that when he said that the mermaid is stupid for thinking of such when she lives underwater and a lot more.

Cade's mission,what he calls it, is for him to find me and to lead me to where the others are but unfortunately, he seems to forget about the latter since he seems to be enjoying himself.

And that's the reason why when we've finally arrived, all of the guys hit him in the head while the girls reprimanded him for taking 2 hours to lead me to where they are.

It was pretty amusing to watch that I can't help but smile at all of them and Cade seems to sense it that when our eyes met he winked at me, earning him another round of hitting and reprimanding while I silently giggled.

But my giggle fit didn't last long as my whole body, suddenly, turn cold when I felt someone's gaze on my back.

Slowly turning around, I saw Archer's retreating form before the door closed.

Seeing him like that, dampen my mood for no apparent reason, knowing that he and I does not share any intimate/close relation at all and yet there seems to be an invincible connection between the two of us.

"He'll never be yours" I whipped my head towards the annoyed voice on my right to see the girl from earlier, glaring at me.

"Excuse me?" I said in disbelief.

"Stop pretending that your deaf" she took a step towards me "Stay away from him" at that, she push me and walk towards where Archer left.

Anger surged through my whole body as my dampen mood turned into wrath towards the annoying girl.

"Don't mind her, she's just jealous of you" I slightly jump from surprise when I heard Cade's voice besides me.

Facing him, I can't help but give him a small smile as if to say I didn't care about what happened but the wide grin on his face seems to tell me that he knows something.

"CADE! Stop hogging Kaitlin to yourself" Lilian shouted as she strode towards the two of us and hug my left arm, making Cade and I look at one another before bursting in laughter.

"What's funny?" Lilian pouted.

"Nothing, its just that" Cade slowly took a step back as his sentence lingers in the air "Well, you look like a child whose been neglected by her mother"

Furious at Cade's sentence, the two of them chase around the room like little kids while everyone stared with amusement.

Seeing that everyone is preoccupied at the moment, I carefully slip away from the room.

With only one thing in mind.

"I want to see him"
