Chapter 9: Promise

[ KAITLIN'S P.O.V. ]

I'm afraid to turn around, knowing that he's right behind me. I could feel his hot breath on my neck as it sends pleasant shivers down my spine, even so I try formulating a plan to escape and yet my whole system won't cooperate at all. It was as if his controlling me.

The fear that I felt earlier is replace by security and an unknown warmth which is quite confusing cause the reason why I'm feeling plike this, is because of the stranger that is right behind me.

What's happening to me right now is clearly not normal, I mean who would feel secure when you don't even know the person at all? what if he's a murder or maybe a rapist (No offense to those people who experience this) but God, I can't even feel any ounce of fear at all.

"Your thoughts are offending me, Kaitlin" the effect of his husky voice on me is incredible that I could feel my knees starting to buckle but thankfully it didn't.

And that's when I realize what he just said, I could feel my blood boil in annoyance enough to make me turn so suddenly that it could give me a whiplash.

"How can you kn---" My outburst is cut off when I realize how close his face from mine.

Seeing that I felt embarrass at our distance, the stranger smirk before giving me the space that I need.

I let out the breath that I was holding, for quite some time as I could feel his observing eyes and yet I'm too embarrass to meet his.

"Found you..." Was the only thing I heard before the silence engulf us.

My emotions are a mess as I stand in front of this man that I knew nothing about and yet all I want is for me to touch him and to get to know him but I'm torn between on doing so and from escaping.

"Look at me, Kaitlin" even if my mind is protesting, my body still did what he ordered

And that's when I become breathless from his piercing crimson eyes. I know that it was an unusual color and yet I can't help but admire it. Longing and something else that I can't truly decipher is swirling in those mesmerizing orbs of his.

I definitely know that it might sound crazy but I can't take my eyes off of him as I scrutinize him.

He's so handsome to the point where girls would fight one another just to get his attention.

He has raven hair, a strong jaw, a build that gives off an aura of power, fair skin and his taller than me.

If I were to compare him to Cade and Neil, He would surely beat them. It was as if he's an angel who was sent from above.

Once again my reverie of thoughts are interrupted by him but instead of uttering a word, I heard his voice on my mind which made me jump in surprise

"If I were an angel what would you do?"

I look at him in bewilderment while his orbs swirl in amusement.

"Your voice...how...what..I mean" My thoughts are a mess that I don't even know what to ask first and this seems to amuse him more causing he chuckle.

"You mean this?"His voice was in my head once again.

Afraid that my voice would not help me with this situation, I give him a nod.

His hand gestured for me to get closer which I did as he lean his head towards my ear to whisper.

"It's a secret" when he's face is on full view he winks at me.
