Chapter 17: Archer

[KAITLIN'S P.O.V.]

"Kaitlin, stop lying"

"I'm not lying"

"Yes, you are"

"I'm not"

"Yes, you are"

"I'm not"

"I have an evidence"

"Nope, you don't"

"Yes, I have"

"Nope"

"Yes"

"No"

"Yes"

"No"

"Yes"

"No"

"Just tell me already" I slap my face as I groan in frustration with our little banter that's been going on for the whole ride that Nick, obviously, started.

"I already told you that I like Cookies n Cream!" I glared at him from the passenger seat to add a little bit of an effect.

"What?!" Nick forcefully pressed the brake making the tires squeak loudly while our body is being thrown off in our seats, unsuccessfully I might add.May the Gods bless the person who invented seat belts.

"What?" I face my brother who is, right now, looking at me as if I had grown another head while I pretended to be innocent.

"And how the hell did we get to that topic" he asked as I shrug.

"Don't know, don't care, stop asking and just drive" Was the only thing I said before turning my head to face the passenger window.

"I'm just asking a simple question that is answerable by yes and no and yet you won't tell me at all" he complained to me but I didn't dare to turn to face him, instead I pretended to enjoy the view outside.

"You do know that this is not the end of it" Nick threatened and starts driving.

"Whatever" was my only response, still not turning around.

Nick has been bugging me for the past 2 days about my relationship with Neil due to the fact that someone - or most likely some stranger named Archer - told my brother what happened in the library, giving him the chance to speculate that Neil and I had a thing for each other.

And every time he ask me about my relationship with Neil, my answer has always been the same because clearly Neil only cares for me as a friend and nothing more, well hopefully.

Although, I'm not too sure about myself because it seems that my feelings for him is developing into something more as time passes by without me, realizing it.

"You do know that thinking about him says something right?" my brother teased, earning him a slap on the arm.

"Ow... that hurt you know" He rubbed the arm that I hit as I stuck my tongue out at him.

"You are so not cute right now" he protested.

"Good, now just shut up and leave me alone for my thoughts" I let my eyes wander outside the car as I analyze the forest with pure wonder.

Today, my brother and I are driving our way towards Cade's and Neil's residency which is in the upper part of the town.

After all, Nick's favor involves the two of us spending the week at their house as they plan out the outdoor party of the school which happens to be the location for the party too.
