Chapter 15: Letter
[ KAITLIN'S P.O.V. ]
Headache, that's what I get for sleeping for more than a week and yet here I am on my hospital bed doing nothing as I sat upright.
I examine my right back hand to see nothing and if my memory serves me right, there should be a scar since it was where my flesh felt like being cut by a sharp knife.
No one knows that I'm awake already since I'm all alone in this very room when I woke up not too long ago with a headache and a body pain.
At first I was a bit confuse to find myself in a room within the hospital instead of my room when I suddenly remember the pain I went through.
Though, I'm a bit thankful that I was left alone right now cause to be honest, I need some time to think things through, especially when I can't do that once my room is full of lively people and to think that I'm already having a hard time doing so with this headache of mine.
For this past few days, I had experience unexplainable events and yet I never thought any of it until now.
I've met strangers a lot now, saw and talk to angels, Dreamt of weird stuffs lately and not only that, I even spoke a different language that I'm not even aware of.
The strangers and angels seems to know who I am but strangely enough, I barely even know them at all and the harder I try to think of it, the more my headache is being a pain.
"A penny for your thought?" My thoughts are interrupted by Lilian, who is currently leaning her body on the door while scrutinizing me.
Without a word, I turn my attention to my backhand once again as I try to convey to her that I want to be left alone.
The clicking of her heels is being echoed throughout the room as she approaches me and when she did the first sentence she utters is "I'm sorry" but that's not enough for me to turn my attention back to her.
I trace my back hand, trying to find any trace of the supposed scar that I should have.
"I know that you're mad at what I did, but" her words lingered in the air, awaiting for me to turn to her which she is greatly disappointed cause I didn't "but it's the only way for you to agree with it"
"Your brother needs to use Cade and Neil's house because they have to prepare for the party that they are hosting since its the sophomores turn to do it" she explained.
Our university has this strange tradition/competition. Each year, the headmaster shall pick which year level shall be hosting an outside party for all students and each one of them shall grade the said party. The higher score you get, the higher the privilege the said year level can get.
Last year, it was the seniors who hosted the outside party and scored 8.6, gaining them the privilege to use the outside field without any permission for any reasons or thing that they have to do.
I am aware that the sophomores were picked for this year, but I never knew that it was my brother who is assigned for it, I mean, if they explained everything to me then would they really think that I won't cooperate at all? In their eyes, am I that shallow?
"How many years have we known each other?" I ignored the things she said as I asked a question which, of course, confuses her.
"Almost 6 years, why?" At her answer, I turn my attention towards her as she just scrunch her brow in confusion.
"We've known each other for that long, and yet you've thought that I'm that shallow?" Wide eyed, Lilian looks at me with guilt eyes as she thought of my words and seeing that I'm not showing any emotions didn't help her so instead of saying anything, she bow her head in shame.
