Louis watched as doctors surrounded Eliza, trying to save her. All emotion left him, and he just sat there, as if in a trance, staring at a white wall of the hospital. He couldn't take all the hurt, so his body basically just shut down, leaving him breathing and thinking, but that was about it.

Eliza was in a coma. The doctors said that somehow, the coma was a protection defense, and was trying to keep her from dying. It was highly unlikely she'd ever come out of the coma. And if she did,... they didn't think she'd live anyways.

Louis sat, staring at a wall, thinking about Eliza. He thought back to when they first met. Alone at a park. He never understood it. How could someone so perfect be rejected by so many unperfect people? How could so many people see her everyday, see how she laughed, cried, smiled, walked, talked, everything, and hate her so much? How were they so blind of her perfection? Even if you didn't want to see it, you HAD to see it... He just didn't understand how they could ruin her life without even giving her a chance to show them how loving she was.

Louis sat in the hospital for three days, each day a different friend staying with him. Louis still hadn't moved. He hadn't drank anything, eaten anything, slept, or spoke. He was sitting in the same position, staring at a wall. Finally the doctors said that he had to go home, because he wasn't going to drink anything here. Their last chance at getting him to eat or drink was at home.

Liam walked into the hospital, and saw Louis for the first time in 3 days. He looked crazy. His eyes had dark circles under his eyes, his hair shoved every which way, and his face was pale, almost white, and he looked twenty pounds lighter. Liam ran to Louis, picking him up. "Aw, god, Lou. What have you done to yourself? It'll be alright, mate. Let's just get you home, it'll be alright. We'll give you a nice shower, some food and sodapop, and you'll get better." He whispered, holding him, consoling himself more than Lou.

Liam drove home, as Louis just stared at the road ahead. "You know, Eliza's going to be alright. She's as stubborn as hell, if she wants to live, she'll live." Liam said, but didn't get a response.

It started to rain, and it was pouring by the time the two boys got to the house. It felt like the ride there was hours long, instead of just minutes. Liam stared at the road, uncomfortable with the new silent Louis. Liam parked the car. They sat there, staring at the rain, and Liam started to cry. Louis jerked his head to the side, staring at Liam, but Liam didn't notice.

"Please Louis, please snap out of it, we need you. We need the strong, sarcastic, funny, loud, more serious than given credit for, loving, wonderful, every other awesome word, person we know. We need you, please come back to us. We can't stand the possiblility of losing both of you. If you don't drink anything today, that'll be three days of no water, you'll die. We- I can't loose you..." Liam cried into his hands.

Finally, Louis snapped completely out of his trance, climbing into Liam's lap. Louis was broken, hopefully not beyond repair, but broken. He knew it, and he tried to hold himself together, tried to stay strong, but he was falling apart, to the point where repair was seeming very unlikely. Liam wrapped his arms around Lou, as Louis cried into Liam's shirt.

"I can't take it, Liam! How she- she just stays there, broken, still, probably only 6 stones now!" (yeah, that took some looking up! supposedly british people weight themselves in stones? 1 stone= 14 pounds, so it would be 84 pounds...) "She is so light, and pale, and thin, and" He sobbed harder, no longer able to speak. He took a few deep breaths. "It-It's just un-unbearable... She's so perfect, yet she is taken before us? Why, Liam? Why does God take the best of us first? It's not damn fair!"

Liam held him closer, crying harder. "I don't know, Lou. I just don't know..." He whispered. "I guess the more perfect you are, the better life you'll have in heaven, so God just wants to take her early. I don't know, mate." He sniffed. "I think, though, that you need to listen to your heart now, mate. Your girl might be leavin' ya, but you gotta stay strong for her. She'd want you to move on, and not just give up on life." Liam smiled softly.
