Tired

"Im tired." He kept repeating. That's all he would say. I was so confused. Was he done with us?

"Baby you just woke up." I had tried reasoning with him, but he wouldn't stop saying, "I'm tired."

"Baby please?" It had been like this all morning. "Explain what you mean."

"I mean," finally something. "I. Am. Tired." I sighed in frustration.

"Tell me something. And tell me right now, because I'm TIRED of waiting. I'm done Frank. This is ridiculous."

"Okay um." I thought for a second. "I never graduated high school."

"Why didn't you? Were you getting people pregnant?"

"No I had cancer, so I had to drop out." He looked at me. "O-oh." I nodded softly.

"I didn't know that. D-do you still-"

"I recovered." I told him. Man I was scared of loosing this boy, but I feel as though I already have, I'm terrified. I want to throw my arms around him and beg for forgiveness, but I still don't think he'd ever forgive me.

"There's so much I don't know about you." He whispered.

"It's almost over baby. I don't have very many more things to tell you." He sighed.

"Tell me something else." I thought again.

"Okay, so you know Ray? And you know how we just stopped being friends?"

"Yeah." He nodded and I continued.

"Well, he was in love with me. But I ended our friendship."

"Oh. I never understood why he stopped coming around."

"Do you understand now?" I asked and he nodded. "Yeah." Was all he said. I felt like I was talking to a stranger rather than the man I married.
