It Was a Blur

TOOTHLESS'S POV

I woke up with a bitter taste in my mouth and a bad headache.

I was slumped down on a chair. I sat up and finally realised that I was still in the Great Hall.

Hiccup and a whole other bunch of vikings were also passed out around me.

My vision was slightly blurry and my head wouldnt stop pounding.

I held my head in my hands and groaned.

Empty bottles were sprawled around the floor.

It really wasnt a comforting sight.

"Ughhhh........ Toothless...?"

Hiccup stirred and sat up.

"What happened here? AND WHY AM I SLEEPING ON THE FLOOR?!!!"

"Ugh..... Hiccup.... dont scream..... I've already got a headache.... "

"Oops..... sorry, bud.... what happened?"

"We had some drinks, remember?"

"Right..... l-lets head out....."

He and I stumbled up and pushed open the doors of the Great Hall.

Absolute silence.

How strange.

"Where's everyone?"

"I dont know. Where's Astrid?"

"Speaking of her..... WHERE'S (Y/N)?!"

He shrugged.

We kept walking until we reached the edge of the village. Hiccup stopped dead in his tracks.

"Toothless..... do you hear that?"

"No?"

"Someone's crying......"

We kept quiet and heard a faint sob. We looked around and saw a small group of people and their dragons sitting by the side of Hiccup's house.

Two of them were crying into their knees while the rest of them were comforting them.

They lifted their heads up while Hiccup and I gasped.

(Y/N) and Astrid were sobbing their eyes out. They looked as if they've been crying for the while night.

"A-Astrid? Why are you crying?!"

He tried getting closer but Ruff, Heather and Eret leapt up and growled at him.

"Ahh.... here come the heart breakers..." Stormfly snarled.

"You should be ashamed...." Windshear added.

"Not. One. Step. Closer." Heather spat.

They all had scowls on their faces. They were glaring at us like a dragon would to its prey.

Did we do something wrong?

"Wha-- WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!!! LET ME GET TO MY GIRLFRIEND!!!" he yelled.

Astrid.... laughed?

It sent shivers down my spine, it wasnt a usual happy laugh. It was full of.... bitterness.....

"Your girlfriend? Hah! As if I'll trust you again....."

"Astrid?! What?!"

"I SAW YOU!!! I SAW WHAT YOU DID!!"

"WHAT DID I DO?!!!"

"YOU MEAN YOU DONT KNOW?!!" Heather screamed.

"(Y/N)? Whats wrong...."

I tried helping her up but she pushed me away.

"Get away."

She had her head down. Its like she was trying to avoid eye contact with me.

"What's wrong...." I coaxed.

"Whats wrong? Heh...... you broke my heart..... "

"What?! I WOULD NEVER!!!"

"YEAH RIGHT!!! ALL US SAW YOU!!! HICCUP WAS HITTING ON HER WHILE YOU WERE WITH ASTRID!!!!" Ruff spat.

"WHAT?!!!!!I--"

"Guys.... enough......"

Her angelic voice....

I've never heard or seen her like this before.

She was trembling from head to toe and she looked so...... defeated.

"Enough.... I dont want to go through this anymore......"

She lifted her head and I could see all the pain she went through in one night.

"Toothless..... I think.... it'll be better.... of we dont see each other.... just for the time being....."

"What?....."

"Astrid and I..... we moved our things into Heather's..... I cant forget what you.... did.... so easily...."

"WHAT EXACTLY DID I DO?!!"

She flinched while the girls leapt to her side.

"WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU DID?!!"

"YOU MADE THE MOVES ON ASTRID!!"

"YEAH BUT I WAS DRUNK!!!"

"Let me ask you something....."

Everyone turned their attention to her.

To my surprise, she smiled. Not a genuine smile, more of a saddened one.....

"Let me ask you.... if you truly cared for me, wouldnt you have thought about me before you started drinking? Wouldnt you have thought of the consequences?"

I stuttered and stared at her.

She smiled weakly and turned to Hiccup.

"Same goes for you Hiccup....."

He seemed to be trying to think of a reason.

She's right.....

So am I at fault here?

"She's right, isnt she, Hiccup? FORGET IT!!! WE'RE DONE!!!"

She stormed away with tears in her eyes while Hiccup chased after her. He looked like he was on the verge of tears.

"Astrid!! ASTRID COME BACK!!!"

"Toothless..... I think I'm..... going to.... be leaving..... please dont talk to me.... just leave me alone..... please....."

She got up and tried to leave but I grabbed her hand.

"TOOTHLESS LET HER GO!!!!!" Ruff yelled.

I didnt loosen my grip.

She squirmed and looked at me. A single tear ran down her face.

I pulled her in closer and smashed my lips against hers.

She whimpered but slowly melted into the kiss.

I reluctantly pulled away.

"WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM TOOTHLESS!!! YOU BROKE HER HEART AND KISS HER?!!!!"

"Heather..... calm down..... Toothless..... just leave me alone. Please."

Her gaze hardened and turned away from me.

My heart grew heavier with each step she took.

I was so confused.

She knows I loved her, but why did she leave?

Everything is a blur now...
