clarice anderson.
Calum is my last dance.
And he's not here.
I stood there in the middle, holding a grip of my 17 roses and awkwardly shifting myself in different positions.
The lights went out and the only light that was visible is the light that was focused on me.
A big screen was right in front and a video was being played. It was a hotel room and just then my heart leaped when that one person came out.
It was Calum.
He was holding a guitar in hand and his smile was so wide. He was wearing a suit that he told was bugging him and his beautiful hair was hanging low on his head, the curls was visible and he has blonde streaks that made him even more beautiful than he is.
"Hi baby." He started. I told him a soft hi and I just stood there and listened to what he says.
"I know you're mad at me for not showing up as your last dance. And I planned this. Please don't make that puppy face that I really can't resist staring at."
"So, you're 18. Wow. Time flies really fast. Remember that one time we fought for so long? The one we ended up shouting at each other and you embarrassing me in front of many people at school? Man, I really thought that was the end of us. End of us talking. End of us being complete strangers again."
"I know your mom is there watching this but I had to say sorry. Mrs. Anderson, I'm sorry for betting on your daughter. There was one time in school that I caught her alone at the cafeteria, and I thought maybe putting a bet on her to be my girlfriend after two weeks and ditch her after was a good idea, but all of that came out as regrets. And I really regretted everything, Mrs. Anderson. I truly, am sorry."
"I hope you don't get too surprised tonight, baby. Always remember that I will do everything to make you happy. I will do everything to make you smile. I will do everything to keep you safe here in my arms. And I will do everything to make you feel like a princess that you deserve. Right now? All you deserve is happiness, and endless talks that will never fade in a memory of someone like you."
"I love you so damn much, Clarice Ann Anderson. This song is for you."
I gasped as a tear fell in my eye. He made me feel so safe all this time. Everything was okay.
Everything was the way it was when we are on our own little world. Everything was all right with Calum by my side.
He started to sing. His voice is one of the most beautiful symphony I've ever heard.
Guess it's true I'm not good
at a one night stand
But, I still need love 'cause I'm
just a man
These nights never seem
to go to plan
I don't want you to leave
will you hold my hand? Now, won't you stay with me?
'Cause you're all I need
This ain't love it's clear to see
But darling, stay with meHow am I so emotional?
When it's not a good look
and some self-control
But deep down I knew
this never works
But you can live with me
so it doesn't hurtNow won't you stay with me?
'Cause you're all I need
This ain't love it's clear to see
But darling stay with meStay with me, 'cause you're all I need
This ain't love it's clear to seeSo baby, stay with me
He continued to sing the song until the whole place lightened up once more. Sparkling lights were everywhere and I can't help but smile at the good aura it brought me.
Suddenly, all heads turned around and looked at the back. Curiousity patted me back and made my head turn quickly to see who's coming inside that catched everyone's attention.
And it was him.
Holding a white rose in his hand, his beautiful features making it visible for me to melt right here at this stage. The man I opted to love even before we met was right here, coming up to me, with the biggest smile I've never seen in my whole life.
"Happy birthday, my princess." He said, bending down on one knee and me accepting the white rose he offered me.
"Well, thank you my handsome prince."
"Can I have this dance?"
I gladly accepted his offer. His hands made its way to my waist while I settled mine at his neck.
I looked at everyone and awe's were leaving their lips while taking photos or even videos of us dancing at the middle.
"I love you so much, Clarice." He muttered.
I looked at him with pure adoration in my face, cupping his cheeks and rubbing his cheek bones. "I love you too, baby. And I was shocked with this. I mean, I didn't even knew this goddamn plan of yours." I soft laugh escaped my lips.
Calum just stared at me and smiled, the best smile he ever plastered in his features.
"You know what?" I broke the silence. "I have loved you ever since we met."
His face started to blush and he tried to hide it, but it's clearly visible to him.
Tonight, it feels like it was just us. It felt like this day was made to make our love enlighten us even more.
"Why did you brought me a white rose instead of a red one?"
He kissed my forehead softly and stayed there for a minute. The emcee started to say something before proceeding to the next part of the program.
"Seventeen red roses for the days that I wasn't there by your side or when you needed me. And one white rose for the one I did tonight."
