calum hood.

"Let's all have a toast, to the woman who empowered all of us. Especially me, in my five years of serving her, she never failed to make me surprised of what she has in store. I still remember that time when my son, Luke, has this smile on his face that he can't really erase. And he just told me that his happiness will come tomorrow. So, I waited and what really surprised me is that Anne called me to her office and she promoted me from being her assistant to being the supervisor of Anderson's Marketing Company. And I will always be thankful to her. Happy birthday, Anne." The speech where all of our mom's tears were shredded for the goodness and warmth of Clarice's mom, or should I say Mrs. Anderson. She was really a good person, and she raised a good daughter as well.

The speech came along until it was my mother's turn. "We were in our college years where I met this beautiful girl named Anne Brooke. She was like a fashion goddess because if her endearing dresses and racks of shoes. I admit I was so jealous about her, she was like the every man's dream. One day, she was all alone and I got the chance to speak to her. She told me that she doesn't have friends and she was really famous back then,"

"That day she also told me that half of the school's population hates her just because of her father's business that is corrupting every single parent of the students. But, I didn't blame her. Instead, I thanked her for giving my boyfriend-which is my husband now-the opportunity to help him have a part-time job. Soon, me and Anne became close friends and when she came to the point that everything within her family was crashing down, I was there to catch her."

"We promised each other that no matter how old we are or no matter how many guys were laid in our beds," My own mother laughing at her joke. "We will always be the best of friends that will treasure every moment that we're together."

Fits of awe's and cheers came running down everyone's mouth and the clanking of the glasses once filled my ears again.

It was a good dinner for all of us, non-stop chatting and laughing. It was good company after all.

But, I can't take my eyes off of one person. It was her. She wore the smile she had on her face ever since her mom showed up. It was a good sight and I didn't waste time taking a photo of her laughing from a random thing my mother have said.

I opened my Instagram and typed away the words I wanted her to hear.

calumhood: It has always been you, the stars shining surrounding me and forever will I be thankful for that smile you always wear around me. I love you.

"You're such a fucking cheesy shit." Michael nudged me playfully as he hit the heart-shaped button from his screen.

I smiled and nudged him back. "I can't even take my eyes off of her."

"Fuck her right at this table."

"Well that would be awesome but I will decline your offer, Clifford."

"What a good boy you got there, Hood."

He patted my shoulder and I just smiled at him.

Dinner was over and we all decided to watch a movie. Our mothers was at the kitchen, talking about work and all.

I can see Clarice staring at me for a moment and then flickered herself away at her phone. She chuckled and chucked it back to the pocket of her jeans. Suddenly my phone dinged and it was an Instagram activity from her.

clariceanderson: you little annoying cheesy shit! :) stop making me smile because ashton is about to attack me with his mind-blowing giggle. ;) p.s: i love you too x

I immediately screenshotted the words she left on my screen. It wasn't just words. Those were the simplest words a gorgeous girl can say to me, even at least for once in my life. She never tried being pretty-even though sometimes she says that she's ugly but she's not-and she never tries to be cute and all giggly whenever she sees something funny. She just makes the aura around her lift up, just how she made my heart leaped for a matter of second.

My eyes drifted away from my phone and I went straight to the window. I stared at the moon shining quietly as the stars around it sparkle. I was at the midst of admiring it again when small arms were wrapped around my torso.

"I always thought back hugs was a good shit. I failed in being sweet." Clarice pouted and skimmed her hands through my chest. "I'm also inlove with you, Calum. And based from what you've been doing? You're doing a great job." She said, kissing my cheek.

I rolled my eyes and gave her a quick peck on the lips. "Stop being so cute because I can just marry the fuck out of you right here." I said while craddling her in my arms.

"Patience, Thomas. Patience is a virtue." She laughed and poked my cheek.

"Since when did you called me by my second name?" I huffed in annoyance.

"Today. I planned it. But, you'll be pissed so that's just temporary." I laughed and just stared at the window once more.

"God, I'm so inlove with you. I love how your eyes sparkle in the dark. I love how your smiles make me so damn worked up and I just can't take my eyes off of you because you're the most precious art that has been laid in front of my eyes. I love how you do every work with passion and I love how you make me fall inlove with a span of a fucking second and just, fuck. I love you so much Clarice Anderson."

I kissed her with much eagerness and passion. Her lips molded with mine perfectly and I just want to stay in her arms forever.

"I love you too, Calum. And I am so completely and utterly inlove with you too."

I looked at the time, it was 11:57 in the evening or should I say, midnight. I waited until the clock strikes 12:00, signaling that it's her birthday.

"Happy birthday, babe. You're legally 18!" I cheered and kissed her forehead.

She was shocked and looked at her phone. "Oh my gosh! I'm 18! Thank you, Calum. And it was so nice of you to greet me at this type of hour."

I laughed and ruined her hair in a playful manner.

Our mothers came back at this type of hour with bags on their hands, as well as the boys who are yawning behind them.

"Let's go. I invited them to sleep at ours for the week." Mrs. Anderson spoke and I can see my bag with my mom. I grabbed it and Clarice helped me carry my things.

We drove off to their house and we all leaned in to a deep slumber.
