calum hood.
It's been a two days since I've been avoiding Clarice. It was hard because we share almost all of the subject matters we have for the whole school year. She, in the other hand has been avoiding my gaze, too. Me, being the sneaky guy I am, can't help but stare at her beautiful features that turns me on.
Shut the fuck up, Calum.
I focused on the damn writings at the board. English is just the subject that never really dared to like me.
"I need you to make a two-stanza poem, about the topic you want to. After twenty minutes, you'll read them in front of the class. Am I understood?" Our English teacher announced. The class said yes and I can hear loud scoffs from behind and beside me. Of course, who will hate poems as much as I do?
Ashton, Luke and Michael of course.
But, something's different with Luke today. He's been staring into someone since the first period. I gazed at his direction and saw him smiling like an idiot. He then lifted his head and looked at the direction he was looking to. I took a glance and I saw who was it.
It was her.
I furrowed my eyebrows and stared at her. She was wearing a beanie, a pink sweater and acid-washed ripped skinny jeans that matched perfectly with her black vans. I checked her out and all I do was bite my lip. Clarice was not smiling, yet focusing on the poem she was doodling ever since a while ago.
I wrote shitloads of sweet nothings on the paper. Not that I'm not minding about my grades, but I made sure that the words suited my poem perfectly. It was about pain. And it fucking pained me.
After battling in my head if I will proceed with my poem, our teacher just called random names from his notebook. Half of the class was done and he called again.
"Hood, you're up."
I stood up from my seat and gazed at someone who was shuffling her pen in many directions. I stepped on the platform and started clearing my throat, and I started reading my poem just as I gained confidence.
I'm a part of a broken heart
But you never let me start.
You fell inlove with me,
But all I gave was misery. No words could express how thankful am I
You came, I acted a little shy.
Standing in front of you, I'm coming closer
And one person grabbed you, the words, I can't really ponder.A set of applause came crashing in my ears. The others teared up a bit at my nonsense bullshit. I just gave them a smile and made my way to my table.
"Nice work, Calum. Keep it up." Our teacher announced. I gave him a grin and procedeed on doodling around a random paper. I can sense that my teacher was having a hard time finding the next, and he came up with a name.
"Anderson, you're last. Don't fail me."
A big gulp was heared, coming from Clarice. She stood shyly in front, not being the normal and funny Clarice me and my best friends know.
I listened closely to what she is saying and after a few attempts of starting, she finally opened her paper and read her work.
Thoughts were brushing through my head,
Messing up was the worst that was spread.
All over my life, I restarted
Things never go well, unless you reacted.Your tracks faded away,
My life was never on time today.
Thank you for years and a day,
This was everything I didn't say.
