As we board the plane with Ahren and Camille, I begin to worry. What if we don't get back in time? What if another rebel attack went on while we were away? What if?
As if sending my thoughts, Ahren asks,"Why hasn't Eady called again yet?"
"Wow, and I thought Kaden could read my mind," I joke, attempting to lighten the somber mood.
"What do you want to do? If we just sit around worrying, it's going to be a VERY long flight," Kaden adds.
"We could say random things and build a conversation off of that; before I started fencing a lot more, Josie would drag me over to talk with her friends and they would start conversations by blurting out some random celebrity stuff and start talking. I didn't know what they were talking about half the time, but I guess we could try with something else," I offer, transitioning to French so that Camille can easily understand us.
"Sure," Camille replies.
"Okay, I'll start. My favorite dessert is macaroons," Ahren says.
"Ooh, those are GOOD. What about the kind that have ice cream in them?" I reply.
"Absolutely delicious. But don't forget cream puffs," Kaden adds.
"Okay. Next time you come to France, we can go to my favorite patisserie. They had every pastry or dessert you can think of, and they were all delicious," Camille says.
We continue saying random things that would start a conversation for most of the flight.
