I hurriedly strode across the plush courtyard to the car waiting on the other side of my family's estate. I passed through billowy white curtains that caressed my skin like a whisper and I laughed as the servants tried to contain the wily fabrics. I was in high spirits because Papa told me he would take me to a recently uncovered ancient tomb with brother Braden. As I made my way to the convertible I saw Braden already speaking to Papa in hushed voices to what I guesses was about this new tomb.

Brother and Papa would not allow me to go with them to see these tombs because they deemed it too "dangerous" for me as they were all mostly unstable but I had talked Papa into it by telling him how I wanted to be an archaeologist just like him and brother and that would never happen if he didn't let me in on some tours.
For three years I had been studying my ass off to prove to my brothers and my father that I was ready and to be of some help when uncovering the hieroglyphics. All I wanted was to make them proud and be the first woman in my family to become an archaeologist. Of course there were plenty of women in the field but none of them carried my family's last name.
In the world of archaeology just announcing Fitorie invoked a respectable awe at the legacy that my father, and his father before have achieved. My family was the best, and I knew I would be too if my stubborn archaic brothers would just let me. Sometimes they could be real chauvinistic assholes but I loved them anyways.
"Is brother Hayden already down there?" I called out to Papa and Braden, interrupting their discussion. It was no secret that I liked being the center of attention, but who didn't when they were a part of my family. We were all beautiful, even my aging parents were gracefully deemed.
"Yes and you better hurry up slow poke or else Hayden will start without us!" Braden always did have a thing about time. And as he grumbled under his breath about me always being late, I might have slightly pinched his arm on accident when I was trying to get in the convertible.
Papa didn't even bat an eyelash when Braden started to lecture me about being lady-like which in tern, I subtly shot the bird so that he understood what I thought about him telling me to be lady-like.
