Leylila lives in the 21st century with her family in Cairo, Egypt and her Father is the very rich and esteemed archaeologist Santiago Fitorie. But one day when Leylila goes with her father and brothers to a newly discovered tomb, she finds a hidden...
Of course I couldn't be in the front because there was a possibility of traps and unstable foundations blah blah blah, the party poopers.
I finally gave in and said I would be the fourth in line. We walked single file down the stairs because it was so small and cramped. My guess was that this was just a possible worker or servant's corridor and not the main hallway.

Marco took up with Papa in close second, Hayden, and then me with Brother Braden taking up the caboose. Braden had a cow when he realized he would be the last person to see anything, and he was still grumbling now about it so I said, "Oh hush you big baby and just take in the sights already! Isn't this just breath-taking?!"
Turning my head back forward I could see Hayden grinning slightly at my obvious excitement. Just then Marco stopped and we all just about crashed into each other. Braden had basically just slumped onto me and boy did he not look big but he felt it.
Brother Hayden was the one to call out, "What's wrong up there? Is it a trap?"
I felt a little chill caress the nape of my neck and I jittery pulled my hair down from its ponytail and shook it out over my shoulders so I wouldn't be too cold down in this dank and dark corridor. I heard father and Marco speaking in hushed tones when finally one of them sighed deeply.
Marco turned and faced all of us, basking us in his torchlight. Now that it was more properly lit it seemed like the walls danced with the flickering light.
"It looks like a dead end!" His voice rang out in echoes and we were all collectively disappointed.
"It's not that uncommon that the floor masters should build fake corridors and try to lead bandits and robbers astray through the maze of these magnificent temples, but all the same I will say I am disappointed. I had thought we had fou-"
Just then Braden had turned to his left to lean on the wall but his shoulder had pushed in a brick and to my horror, released a trap upon us.
In a matter of seconds we were all now blindly free falling into the depths of the ancient ruins.
We were all finished.

It was dark.
That was my first impression on what my sense would allow in such circumstances. The second was that I had landed on something uneven and squishy.
"GET OFF OF ME LEYLILA! YOU'RE GOING TO CRUSH ME."
I scrambled to move off from on top of him and tried to get my bearings. At first when we were falling I thought we would land into a pit of spikes, Indiana Jones style. But that was not our fate and I silently thanked God for that.
