We emerged from the tomb after a total of four and a half hours spent working our way around.
The plan was set for only three so when we had passed that mark people started to worry and eventually called my mother, Annalise Fitorrie, down to prepare for the worst. Naturally she was crying tears of joy when her entire family emerged from a side entrance all accounted for and well alive.
We had to practically drag her off of us so that we could rush over to the labs to do some analyzing on the scroll. Now that we were out of the temple I felt a lot safer than I had inside. After discussing what we had seen with the crew and reporters at our dig sight, we all piled into our cars and rushed back to town.
Once at the labs, we met with some professors from the Cairo University and told them of our findings while they graphed out the scroll on some big clunky computers. I was sitting in a spare chair since it seemed that it was going to be awhile before we got any results back. I sighed, thinking back to all that transpired within the tomb. It almost felt like something didn't want me to be there...
"Leylila why don't you go home? I'll call for a driver to take you, you've had a long day." I eyed Papa warily, it was true that I was extremely tired and wanted the comfort of my bed but I still wanted to see the results just like everyone else.
Seeming to follow my train of thought Papa smiled kindly down at me and said, "We won't get results back until a few more hours probably by tomorrow. We are all going to head back soon, I just need to finish some paper work, okay?"
Admitting my exhaustion I nodded my head and went outside to silently wait for the driver to pull our car around to the university's curb.
Once back at home, I changed out of my grimy clothes and took a hot shower. As the water poured over my skin, I visibly relaxed. I had always had a thing about hot water, it always soothed me even if I was having anxiety about anything.
I put on my pajamas and went to bed but not before opening my bedrooms balcony doors and let the white curtains flutter to life. I always loved propping them open because the nights air was always comforting.
I crawled into bed and had wild dreams of a young Pharaoh King and a river that stretched on for eternity.

When I awoke the next morning I hurried with my dressing and made my way to the kitchen where my mother sat reading an article about our family and the tomb in the local newspaper. I greeted our personal chef and asked for the usual (eggs benedict with a side order of orange juice).
Mother looked up at me then feigned reading again.
"I suppose you're going back to the site today with your father and Braden?"
I nodded my head hurriedly as I took in the juice and inhaled my breakfast. I assumed Father had already been up for hours and would want a head start at looking at the scroll this morning.
"Well before you go I would like to discuss the soiree that we will be hosting tomorrow night in honor of the new temple being discovered. Of course we will also be introducing you into society and-"
Mothers voice droned on as I disdainfully thought of how we are hosting yet another party in disguise as a way for our family to get more financial backers for our excavations.
