Chapter 10
I pulled away from Leah. It couldn't be more than one wizard called Lis. Especially not that could shoot fireballs. It had to be her.
"Lis... Is your twin?" I asked. Leah shot a confused glance at me.
"You know her?"
"Yeah, and I think that whatever happened to Lis, is happening to John right now."
"That's what I thought too."
All of a sudden, I remembered the vision I'd just had. Leah deserved to know, especially because Lis was her twin sister.
"There's one more thing I think you should know," I began. "I've started having these kind of... Visions..." I looked back up at her.
"Visions? But that's not an ability, is it?"
"I don't think so, but for some reason I'm having them. That was what happened back there..."
"So... What did you see?"
I remained quiet for a few seconds while the memory came flashing back to me.
"I saw John... And Lis..." I took a short break, staring at Leah's curious face expression. "They were burning down the school."
Her jaw dropped open before she took a little step back.
"Oh my god," she said. "I knew she was bad but... I could never imagine her being this bad. What are we gonna do, tell Ms. Harrison?"
"No," I replied, thinking about what I'd promised John. A promise was a promise, no matter how much he changed. I was not gonna tell anyone about John's powers. Leah was an exception. She nodded.
"Yeah, you wouldn't do that to him, would you?". I shook my head and looked down. "That's understandable... But what do we do then?"
"I don't know..."

I woke up the next day, happy to see that the whole magic thing was not only a dream. The thought had hit me before, since the experience so far was... Yeah, supernatural.
I got up from bed and got dressed. I put on a pair of black skinny jeans, my superman T-shirt, and white Adidas & Jeremy Scott wing shoes, then I pulled my hair up in a quiff, just like I always did.
When I was done, I noticed the noise of John's quiet snoring. I checked his bed, where he was, just like expected, sleeping.
"John, what are you doing?" I said. "Get up!"
"No," he mumbled in his half-sleep. Why was he always sleeping? It was just as if he was awake at night and slept in the day... Just like a vampire.
The thought hit me. What if John was a vampire? Wizards existed, so maybe vampires and werewolves did too? After all, his eyecolour changed and he slept in the day. And that would explain why he went out in the nightime when we were back home.
However, I knew I didn't take that thought seriously. I couldn't imagine John as a vampire. We always used to make up jokes about me being a vampire, because my name was Edward, just like in Twilight.
It wasn't impossible, though...
"Just let him sleep," Josh said. "We can go without him."
Josh and Ross seemed to become pretty good friends in here. I always saw them together - talking and laughing. If John was going to continue the way he did, I should probably find other friends as well. I thought about Leah right away.
I left the room along with Josh and Ross, then went to the corridor between the girls' rooms and knocked on the door to room 2. Leah had told me it was her and her four roomates' room.
A blonde girl opened the door. She looked like an eighteen or nineteen-year old, with big, pink lips and huge eyelashes. She wore a short top with the american flag on, a messy pair of short shorts, and spiky high heels. She was chewing some bubblegum, and blew a little, pink bubble that popped right away.
"And... Who are you?" she asked and raised an eyebrow. At first I though Leah had given me the wrong room or something, but that was until I heard her voice.
"Edward!" she yelled and jumped in front of the blonde, bubblegum-chewing girl, which rolled her eyes and left. Leah was smiling from ear to ear as she shut the door behind her.
"Why so happy?" I asked with a weak smile playing on my lips as we walked along the corridor.
"All of my roomates are total bitches, I'm glad to see you!"
"Bad word," I said in a voice just above a whisper.
"I'm sorry, but you saw Rita!" Out of her sentence, I understood that the female that opened the door, was Rita. "Have you figured out what to do yet?"
"Unfortunatly not. I'm not even sure if there is anything we can do..."
"Oh... Well, tell me about your dream from last night then!"
"It was nothing special," I admitted. It was nothing like all my recent dreams. I remembered having my licence, and I parked my car and went into a mall. I was pretty sure there was someone else with me, but I didn't see their faces and the voices was unclear. "Just me with a mall..."
We went into class, where the same teacher as yesterday waited for everyone to arrive. It was also the same room as yesterday; the hall. I and Leah were the last ones in, and I shut the door behind us.
"So, class," the teacher started. "Today we will repeat the energy ball shooting from yesterday, and then I will teach you how to create a shield. You can come to this room whenever you'd like to improve your skills, and if anything goes wrong, there will be a healer in the room." She took a short break from all the information. "Now, let's start the class!"
I wanted to learn more magic, I mean IT'S MAGIC, and my energy ball shots weren't the best, but I just couldn't help thinking about John. I remembered what he'd said after he had burnt himself. He'd said he would never want to hurt me, no matter what. Why would he say that? That was good news, of course, but why did he say it?
"Maybe we could find something at the library," Leah said to me, almost whispering it. She obviously thought about the same thing as me.
"But that might take ages.."
"But what are the options?". I ran my thoughts through every possible option, trying to find a fast and easy way to reveal John's secret.
"I will try talk to him when the class is over," I ended up saying.
She nodded with a weak, little smile in agreement, then paid attention to the teacher talking.
No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't get John's secret out of my head. My feelings were a mix of worry, curiosity and disappointment.
I thought about all the clues. There was so many, yet not enough to solve the mystery. All my dreams, the way he was changing, everything he had said...
I thought once again about what he'd said and what he hadn't, and I realised someting I hadn't realised before. Something that made my heart galop of nervousness, and I stopped breathing for just a little moment, asking myself if it was even possible. It couldn't be...
After he burnt himself, and I asked what was going on...
He said he didn't WANT to hurt me... He never said he wouldn't...
