Thirteen

"Take over" She say.

At first I don't know what to do. It's like all my knowledge has disappeared, but somehow I manage to begin. And I keep pushing until we reach Chicago Med, where docotor Rhodes take over.

After getting out of the ambulance and sitting in the waiting room for hours, I'm near dying. The clacking of the keys coming from the receptionist and the constant boring commercials from the TV drives me insane. I want to know what's going on with that little monster, not ten minutes, two hours or forty years later; I want to know before my brain shut down and my hands does something to that clock.

Voight's pov

Three hours after the accident, or whatever we should call it, I got a call. She is ready for visitors. Now I'm sitting on a chair outisde her room, waiting for April to end her chat with her. He is telling her about what's going on and what they will do to her, since she's hurt and weak at the moment. Normally I would tell her because I'm her boss but she never listen to me when I tell her something important, but if a doctor tell her, maybe she will believe in it.

"She's all yours" April says coming out from her room.

I nod to him to show my appreciation. When I walk in it talkes a while before she notice me.

"Hank" Jennifer says with a sigh.

I have my hands in my pockets and I approach her, when I get closer I lean against the wall.

"Did it ever hit you that you got released one year in advance?" I ask. Putting preassure and a lot on meaning in the word released.

"No, not really" She says, not thinking before speaking.

I grab the chair beside me and put it in front of her bed with the back rest in front of me. I sit down on it and rest my hands on the back rest. I let my fingers lock and the silence spread.

"Let me tell you something" I say, looking into her eyes "I went to the dark side, burned evidence, to get you out of there" I continue.

"Hank, I didn't know" She say "I swear I...." She begin to continue but I interrupt.

"They have a requirement, and it is that I need to make sure you behave"

Jennifer put one hand over her face and sighs.

"But I believe you can change and that's why I'm giving you a second chance" I say.

Jennifer burst out, she seems to be grateful. I really hope she will take this opportunity and use it for something good. I really think she can change and become good again.

"Dr Rhodes will take care of you, he's your boss for now" I say and start to walk out from the room.
