They dragged me out of the cellar and sealed the others inside. I didn't fight, I didn't scream. I was afraid Max would see and that I would get him involved. The General threw me into a room. I face planted on the floor and he slammed the door behind me. The lights turned on moments later.
I was in a metal room. A glass wall sat across from me. I could see into another room. It had a small computer, wooden desk and a black swivel chair. The General and Erik walked into that room. Erik stood watch at the door. The General sat in the chair. He spoke into a microphone thing.
"Welcome to the Cage, Samantha. If you tell me where you hid those vials, we will let you and your little friends go free."
I stood up and crossed my arms. "First tell me what you plan to do with them."
The General pushed a big red button on the desk. "No" he said.
Two panels in the walls slid open. Metal rods slid out from both panels. Lightning shot out from both of the rods .The lightning hit me.
I could feel the bolts going into my body and out through the floor. I fell to the ground, fighting back the pain.
"See, Samantha...may I call you Sam?" He asked
"No," I growled.
"See, Sam. You tell me where you hid those vials. Or that will happen. And if you still don't tell me, I will drag your friends in here one by one and make you watch them burn to a crisp."
I got an idea. Greg can control lightning, which means he can't be hurt by it.
"Please," I pleaded, "not Greg. He's just a little boy. Please...not him." My acting was horrible, but The General seemed too torture-happy to notice.
The General smirked. "Erik, go get Greg. He will be in there next if she doesn't cooperate."
I banged my fist against the glass wall. "No! No! Not Greg, please!"
"Then you better tell me where you hid them," the General snarled.
The next 10 minutes consisted of pleading, shouting..and me being struck by electricity. I hoped my plan would work. Erik finally arrived with Greg in tow. I was exhausted, but I still had hope.
I switched places with Greg. He went into the room, and I was being held back by Erik. "Greg!" I shouted. "I'm sorry!"
He was brave, "Don't worry!" He said, "don't tell him Sam. Don't tell him anything!"
"How cute." Said the General. He pressed the red button. I watched as the lightning hit Greg. Instead of collapsing to the ground like I did, he stayed standing.
The Furie looked furious. He pushed the button over and over again, but it was worthless. Greg just stood there, unfazed.
"Sam," he said. "Get down." I head butted Erik and got under the wooden desk. Greg shot a large bolt of lightning at the glass wall. It shattered and the lightning hit the Furie square in the chest. Greg shot another one at Erik, but it wasn't as big.
Erik fell to the ground, he was having a seizure of some kind. Greg and I ran to grab my bow and arrows. Then we grabbed some shovels and started to dig the others out of the cellar.
It took only a few minutes.
When they were free, Greg and I quickly told them of our escape. Katie and Greg led us to the main building. They showed us the way to the office where the lady had made the announcements.
I shot down about 3 more Furies on our way in. Once I got to the intercom, I was hyper with adrenaline.
"Attention children." I said. "This is Sam Fay telling you that we are breaking you out of here! Please cease all activities and meet at the front gate!" I could hear the cheering from inside the office.
A large group of Furies stood outside of the door. Many others were trying to round up the younglings. Erik was in front of them. He held a dagger to Max's throat.
"Where do you think you're going?" He snarled.
