"And than it turned our that David's son was Spencer and than-"
"Woah back up, so your dad's friend is actually Spencer's dad?" Azalea asked as I was speeding the events of last night at a mile per minute.
"Yeah, but he wasn't all big, tough, bully boy like he is in school, he was the same player guy but not that much bully guy- It was so weird!"
"Ok Maydah, breathe dear," She said patting my back. I let out a long sigh.
"Hey Maydah, may I sit next to you?" Caily asked that morning in my maths class.
"Sure," I replied moving my bag out of the way. She sat down, something about her was different, I think it was her fashion, she was wearing less bold clothes than she was when I was working with her on the Geography project.
"I like what you're wearing," I complimented gesturing at her tshirt.
"Thank you, I'm kind of having a wardrobe make over, and I was hoping you could help me."
"Me?!" I asked shocked.
"Yeah, I took on board what you said the other day about our bodies being shown off for men to drool over and stuff and it made alot of sense." She started. "So I'm starting to show less of my body."
"That's great!" I exclaimed, "Of course I'll help."
I was so happy she understood to what I said, I didn't even notice Haylie and her crew throw around their share of insults.
Later that day, in English, Zeke came in a bit late. He looked like the walking dead! The bruise under his eye had become blue, he had a slight limp and huge dark rings under his eyes.
"Don't ask." He muttered sitting next to me as I observed him wide eyed.
"But how-"
"I said don't Maydah, I'm not in the mood." He said visibly irritated.
"Class, today we'll simply be annotating everything from the book for tomorrow's lesson, if you don't finish in class than take it for home work." Mr Meegan announced.
"I, uh, went to Spencer's house yesterday," I said randomly trying to make him talk.
"What?!" He exclaimed sitting up, and than groaning clutching his stomach and slouched down again. "Why would you go there?"
"His dad is friends with my dad," I replied trying to cover my extra curious expression.
"I bet he doesn't know about your history with him than, huh?"
"Yeah.."
The amount at how much I wanted to know what was going on in his life was impossible. The bell rang and I hadn't finished my work. Great, more homework added to the list... I started to head home, going through the back way of the school because it was quieter and because I simply was more than not in the mood of bumping into Spencer or Haily or any one else.
"You got everything?" I heard a rough voice from behind the school building, I peeked my head around the corner and saw a buff looking guy with tattoos all over his right arm and a huge shiny bald head.
"This is it," some one else said handing him something which I couldn't make out. I poked my head further out in order to make out who the second person was and couldn't hold in my gasp when I made out who it was.. Zeke! The buff guy heard my gasp and immediately i whizzed my head back away from the corner that I was spying on them from, pressing my back against the wall, breathing heavily but quietly as I heard the buff guy coming closer to where I was.
"So tonight?" Zeke said, and the buff guy moved away from where I was, thankfully he didn't see me.
"Yeah, yeah" he said in his rough voice. I was about to start walking away but heard Zeke coming my way.
"If I go the opposite way, he'll suspect I was there." I thought, but than remembered I had to give him his jacket that he lent to me yesterday.
"Thanks for your jacket," I said as he caught sight of me.
"No problem," He said stuffing it into his bag eying me suspicially. "How long were you here?"
"What do you mean? I just saw you right now.." I lied swiftly
He nodded buying my bullcrap.
"Well, I'm heading home," I said.
"My dad called." He said unexpectedly.
"Your real dad?"
"Yeah."
"What did he say?" I asked.
"He wants to come visit."
"Thats great," I said, but he didn't look like it was a good thing. "Right?"
"I don't want to see him, he can either be in my life or not, I don't need him coming when he feels like it and abondoning us the rest of the time."
"It's a big change in his life, he actually has a kid now, I think he's just overwhelmed, you just need to give him time." I reasoned.
"He's just thinking about himself." Zeke muttered.
"And what about you?"
"I didn't ask for all of this! You just barged into my life and.. Ruined it!" Zeke blurted.
"And what about you? Your step dad killed my mother, at least you have a father, my mother is dead because of your stepdad!" I fought back.
"This is really messed up." He mumbled. "it's just easier to blame some one.."
"I know."
"I'm sorry Maydah." He said stepping closer to me lifting my chin so that I was looking at him, I moved my head away. "Oh, I forgot.."
I nodded, "You'd better head home.." I said
"Maydah Ahmad?" A lady addressed me.
"Yes?"
"We need to talk." She said looking around. "Come with me."
