"Prom is in just three weeks," Ian reminded Shawn, one chilly Sunday afternoon.

"I know, I know. I'm not sure how to ask Laur though," Shawn replied, messing around with Ian's desk chair.

"Just straight up ask her tomorrow morning."

"What, no big promposal?"

"Please no. I'll disown you."

Shawn chuckled. "I think I'll buy some flowers."

Ian rolled his eyes. "You're cheesy," Ian scoffed.

Shawn shrugged. "I'm okay with that."

Looking down at his watch, Shawn saw that if he wanted flowers tonight (there was no way he would have time to purchase them tomorrow morning) he would need to leave, now.

"I gotta go, see you tomorrow," Shawn said, standing from the chair.

"See ya. Don't over stress about your promposal," Ian teased.

Shawn simply shook his head and left the room.

"Thanks for having me Mrs Warburton," he thanked Ian's mother on his way out.

"My pleasure Shawn," she replied warmly.

Hopping in his car, Shawn drove to the local florist. Parking happened to be a total hassle, due to roadworks cutting out over half the towns carparks.

After circling the surrounding area, Shawn managed to snag a park only a couple of minutes from his destination.

The florist was due to be shut in ten minutes, causing Shawn to do that awkward run/slash jog you do when you're late for something.

As he checked his watch for the third time, he crashed into someone. Quickly checking himself for injury, he turned to the girl he bowled into.

"Sorry!" Shawn exclaimed at the same time as her.

Both laughed, the girl's smile catching Shawn's breath short. Shawn stood shakily to his feet, extending a hand to her.

She accepted it gratefully, also returning to her feet.

"Sorry, sorry, I'm such a klutz!" She apologised again, her green eyes sparkling.

"No, that was all me, I had no clue where I was going," Shawn argued.

She smiled, shaking her head. "Let's just say it was both our faults then."

Shawn nodded, laughing.

Somewhere in the distance a male called.

The girls eyes flew forwards, towards the voice.

"Sorry again for that, goodbye!" She said hurriedly, dropping Shawn's hand like it was on fire and quickly walking around Shawn and away.

Her whole demeanour changed, her smile gone and her shoulders hunched.

"Wait!" Shawn called, spinning around.

Too late- she was gone- swallowed by the crowd.

"I don't even know your name," he whispered to himself.
