Shawn was being too difficult to get a straight answer out of, so Mickey left him by the tree and sought out his friends, namely Ian. Although she was didn't know if he still essentially hated her, she knew he was trustworthy and cared about Shawn.

"Shawn is so far gone!" She exclaimed upon seeing him.

"And what do you care?" He replied hostilely.

Mickey was taken back, but expected as much. "I care for him," she said.

"Yeah right," Ian replied.

"I care for him far more than you know. What happened... I wish I could take some things I said back."

"But it all happened and you left him for heartbreak death," Ian replied.

"Okay whatever! That's in the past. Where were you when Shawn got mobbed before and almost died?" She queried, sick of his attitude towards her.

"What?" Ian asked, shocked.

"Exactly. He got up on a table to get away from all the people and it broke on him. Would've smacked his head or something if my friend wasn't on to it," Mickey said, happy to finally have something on Ian.

"Okay so you've done one good thing, whatever," Ian said, guiltily, "what do you want?"

"I came to ask what's happening with Shawn tonight as he's currently under a tree outside," Mickey explained.

"We were all going to crash here," Ian told her.

"That can't happen now, he'll get harassed," Mickey said annoyed, "did you really not think this through?"

"He was last minute in the plans," Ian said defensively.

"Whatever. If you get him to his car, I'll drive him home," Mickey suggested.

"Then do what?" Ian questioned.

"Drive myself to my grandparents. He or you or someone can pick up the car tomorrow."

"Where do your grandparents live?" Ian questioned again.

"Do you need to see my ID too?" Mickey asked sarcastically, "They live near Lyall."

Ian was silent for a few seconds. "Okay, fine."

"Thanks for your approval," Mickey said, rolling her eyes.

After Ian helped her with getting Shawn into his car, she proceeded to drive him home.

"Come on Shawnie," she coaxed, once they'd arrived, "you need to go inside."

The effects of the alcohol were still playing havoc on Shawn's emotional well being, but for now he was compliant enough.

Mickey helped Shawn out of the passenger seat of his car and up to his house.

"Are you going to be all right?" She asked.

"No," he said, "not without you."

Mickey sighed, but allowed Shawn to drag her into his house.

"Where is your family?" She whispered.

"Probably sleeping," he said loudly.

"Shhh then!" She said hurriedly. Like with Ian, she wasn't sure where she stood with his family anymore. Shawn shrugged and continued his way to the kitchen.
