Just over a week later, Shawn laid on his bed, texting Mickey. He'd found out a lot about her from their text conversations. Shawn wasn't a big fan of texting, but Mickey lived around fifty minutes away from Shawn in Toronto, so he couldn't just go hang out with her all the time, like he wanted to. Unlike himself, she was in school five days a week. Plus Shawn was still caught up in all his music, he needed to write some songs, learn some songs and perfect those songs.

Mickey's Grandparents lived in Pickering, rather close to Shawn, and that's who she was staying with when Shawn ran, uh, into her. All had been forgotten and Shawn considered her one of his closest friends.

Mickey had been told by the doctors she had to take it easy for at least a month, and she got sick of sitting around the house not being able to do much. She wished Shawn was there in person to cheer her up, like he did that day in hospital.

Shawn was flying down to New York on Sunday for a week, so he asked his parents if he could go up the day before then stay the night in Toronto. After his parents pestered him, he admitted he had met a girl, and no they wouldn't stay together, and no he didn't meet her online and yes he had met her in person before. Finally his parents agreed. Shawn, ecstatic with this news, immediately dialled Mickey.

"Hey Shawn, uh, now's not a great time..." Mickey answered her phone quietly.

"I'll make this quick... leave your Saturday free!" Shawn practically yelled into his phone.

"Wait what?!" Mickey exclaimed.

"You know how I told you I'm going to New York next week? I fly out earlyish Sunday morning so I asked my parents if I could go to Toronto on Saturday, and they agreed," Shawn explained, grinning from ear to ear.

"Shawn this is so great! Of course, we can hang the whole time-"

Mickey's voice halted, before some muffled shouts were heard and the line cut out. Shawn, confused, quickly texted Mickey to see what happened. He got no reply so he simply left it. She did say it wasn't a good time... also it's a school day! Shawn almost laughed. He called Mickey in the middle of her school day! No wonder she cut off so suddenly, a teacher probably confiscated her phone. Already, even being only a couple of weeks out of school, Shawn felt so out of routine.

Speaking of school, Shawn remembered he should really start on the English assignment his online tutor thing said he had to do... I guess some things don't change.

Half an hour later, Shawn found himself still staring at an empty laptop screen. Sick of attempting his paper, he decided to write something he actually wanted to write about- his feelings towards Mickey.

Shawn was one of those people who was terrible at verbalising. However, give him a pen and paper and he'll write you a enthralling song or poem about his feelings. To sort out his thoughts, he began to write a faux email to Mickey.

Dear Mickey,

I want to tell you how beautiful you are. Recently, you really have me thinking what we could be. Ever since I met you, I've wanted something more. I can't put my finger on it, but there's something about you that is like no other. I want you to know, that I keep craving, you don't know it but it's true, can't get my mouth to say the words I want to say to you.

Is this typical of love? This inability to talk or even begin to explain to you the complexity of my feelings? Well I can't wait anymore, I won't wait, I need to tell you how I feel when I see us together, forever.

I'm my dreams, you're with me, we'll be everything I want us to be. And from there, who knows? I just want to be with you.
