Chapter 22

Seth was waiting outside of the bakery once we had finished and closed up for the day. He winked at me from where he leaned against the truck, extending his arm and pulling me into his arms.

"How was your shift?" He asked, kissing me softly, before taking Bailey's carrier. We held hands as we walked down Main Street towards Bernie's.

"Great, Doctor Ferris bought a house around here. She stopped by the bakery today with her family, she has four boys."

"Wow, that's a lot of testosterone." He said chuckling and I laughed,

"What would you prefer? More boys or girls?"

"I haven't really thought about it. I guess it doesn't really matter to me." He held the door for me and I smiled at Mrs. Jackson,

"Table for two," She grinned and nodded, bringing us to a booth in the back. Seth kissed my head while I slide into the booth,

"I'll be right back, I'm just going to wash up." I nodded, and Mrs. Jackson grinned at me,

"He's so handsome Charlie." I grinned,

"He really is."

"How is he treating you?"

"Perfectly Mrs. Jackson. Better than I've imagined." She grinned,

"I'm so glad Charlie. If you need Bailey's formula warmed don't hesitate to ask me." She said and I nodded. She pulled out her small note pad, flipping it to a new page,

"Did you want anything to start with honey?"

"Two Pepsi's and an order of onion rings please." She nodded,

"Coming right up." She left and Seth came out moments later, sliding into the booth next to me.

"I ordered you a Pepsi, and ordered some onion rings for you to try." He nodded and winked, taking the menu and looking at the different options,

"Have you tried the potato skins?" I nodded,

"They're really good but we don't get them very often." He nodded and flipped the page, looking at the burgers. Mrs. Jackson came back holding two cups and placed them on the table,

"Are we ready to order?" She said and Seth looked at me. I nodded and he smiled, taking my hand,

"Ladies first."

"I'll have my usual Mrs. Jackson." She nodded and wrote it down and Seth smiled,

"I'll have the double burger with cheese, and I'll take an order of potato skins with that." She nodded and smiled,

"It's coming right up."

Seth moved over so he wrapped his arms around my shoulders,

"I haven't eaten since breakfast this morning, I'm starving." I just grinned and kissed him,

"Thank you for all of this Seth." He grinned and eagerly kissed back until Mrs. Jackson came back holding two plates of food with an order of onion rings,

"Enjoy you two!" She called before walking away,

Seth grinned, "This looks fantastic." He kissed my head before we both started to eat. I was a tad surprised once we were done eating and Seth had finished all of his plate and most of the onion rings. He looked over at me and had a matching grin eating his face when he saw my plate practically clean. Bailey looked around once she woke up from her nap and grinned when she saw us. Seth took her out of the carrier and kissed her head softly and she rested her head on his shoulder, smiling at me and sticking her tongue out.
