The baby shower started at noon and instead of having only girls there I decided it would be fun to have all my friends and their significant others be there as well. Besides, most of them were fathers themselves anyways. Jackie came early with Zach and Logan to have some time to visit before everyone got here. She helped me make some of the food while Seth and Zach were in the family room catching up on the highlights from last weeks race. Once we finished in the kitchen Seth stood up and handed me Bailey, kissing my head,

"I'm going to get started on making us some lunch and then I'll put the appetizers in the oven. Oh, did you finish packing your bag? We're leaving first thing tomorrow, don't forget."

I nodded and sighed, "I know, I've got everything packed don't worry. Jackie and Zach want to car pool, is that fine?"

"Babe I thought your parents were carpooling?" I completely forgot about them.

"Well the Traverse has eight seats... We'll fit."

"With our two dogs and the babies and all the luggage?" I sighed and rubbed my face. This was not the kind of stress I needed right now,

"I don't know Seth." He sighed and rolled his eyes. Thankfully he knew it was only the hormones talking so he didn't take it to heart. I didn't want to tell Mom and Dad that we couldn't drive them especially if they were going to pay for the hotel room again.

"We'll talk about this after the baby shower okay?"

I nodded, disregarding the fact that I'd probably be exhausted after the shower but I went and sat with Jackie and Zach. Thankfully Jackie didn't bring it up.

"So are you nervous?" Zach asked, holding Logan against his chest.

I raised my eyebrow, "For what?"

"The opening. We'll talk nerves for having twins later."

I sighed and shrugged, "In a way, yes. But I've already had a grand opening so I know what to expect. I guess I'm just nervous that something will go wrong or no one in the town will show up."

"I doubt it. You'll probably even get news coverage too." Jackie rolled her eyes knowing as well as he did how good I did in front of camera's,

"Thanks dummy. Now she'll be more nervous." Zach sighed and I smiled,

"It's fine Jackie, I haven't really thought that far in advance to be honest. I'm just trying to take this one day at a time." She nodded and Seth came in with lunch, handing plates to everyone.

Later that day everyone slowly started showing up, starting with Hannah and Adam. While I chatted with her close to the front door I welcomed everyone warmly before they made their way out back.

"We told Simon that he was going to have a baby brother or sister and he's really excited... Except now he's bugging for a dog. He knows that we'll have to focus more time on the baby and he thinks that a dog will make him feel better. Adam is dying for one but I doubt we'd be able to handle a dog."

"They're hard work. Have you considered adopting a dog that's already an adult?"

"We've talked about it, but with Simon being so hyper and a new baby on the way we're nervous about not knowing the dog's background. God I just wish there was a program where you could take in a dog for a week or two and have a trial period."

"Actually, I might have a way for you to be able to do just that."

"What are you talking about?"
