A few nights later Jackie wanted Seth and I to go over to her house to watch the first NASCAR race of the season and just hang out. I missed being around her, but I knew that no matter what happened in our personal lives we'd always be really close.

I dressed in a pair of maternity yoga pants and a sweatshirt, tying my hair up in a messy bun. Seth wore jeans and a crew neck and I put Bailey into her pajama's. Jackie offered for us to bring Maverick and Goose, and I promised her I'd bring her some baked goods for dessert. Although I was pretty sure I'd be the only one eating them, Jackie was doing her best to cut unnecessary sugar's out of her diet and she's started working out more now that Logan is almost four months old.

We got into Seth's brand new truck, a 2016 Chevrolet Silverado. It had six seats, it was basically a top of the line vehicle. Seth's mom needed a new vehicle, so she had offered to help Seth buy a new one and he agreed to give his truck to her. She was actually coming over for dinner next weekend and Seth was a little nervous about it. He even considered inviting Jackie and Zach, Zach was practically the brother Seth never got.

Upon my old truck failing it's safety this year Mom and Dad insisted that I had to buy a new car. I did agree with them though, my old truck had five seats and that wasn't going to be practical for much longer. However instead of getting a car I decided to get a used SUV so we could have more seats. It was an 2012 Chevrolet Traverse, and it had a few newer improvements such as Bluetooth and we opted to have the used car dealership add two mini screens with DVD players. We'd had the SUV for about two months now.

Honestly the amount of money that we were spending getting ready for twins and getting safe cars for them and everything was making me sick, but surprisingly everyone was helping little by little. Seth's mom was helping pay off the truck and she actually surprised us with a very expensive stroller and change table for the twins. I was nervous about spending a night with Seth's mom and having her over for dinner but every time I've run into her in town she's been nothing but sweet to me.

We drove to Jackie and Zach's house and I smiled when I saw Zach sitting on the porch with Logan sleeping on a chest, a heavy blanket covering most of him.

"Hey," Seth said, getting out of the car and getting Bailey from her car seat.

He nodded, rubbing Logan's back, "How's it going?"

"Good, where's Jackie?"

"She's napping," He said, "She's been with Logan all day and last night she stayed with him because I was assisting in a surgery today... Luckily my boss let me out early and I was home at noon, she was already asleep with him when I got here."

"You should have told us, we could have come another night." I said, getting out of the car.

"No she was up for half an hour around three and insisted she wanted you guys to come over still. I think she's awake now, but she probably has the heated blanket on and doesn't want to get out of bed."

Seth nodded and sat beside Zach, opening his coat so Bailey could snuggle into him. I decided to head inside since it was a little chilly and I saw Jackie's bedroom light on, so I went upstairs and saw her laying there staring at her ceiling quietly. I laid beside her, moving under the covers before laying on my back.

"How did we get this lucky?" She asked, looking over at me,

"I ask myself that every day. We got really lucky, our parents are wealthy, we're in love with beautiful children... We've got an amazing support system." She nodded and looke d over,

"I stayed up with Logan all night and it got to a point this morning I was exhausted and so frustrated that Zach was at work and I had to watch Logan by myself and then he just shows up randomly and surprises me with brunch and takes Logan for the rest of the day and he's going to start taking more days off to help out so we're not both exhausted all the time."

"That's really good Jackie. You're both going to need as much rest as possible. It's hard having a baby to take care of."

"I can't imagine having three," She commented, reaching over to put her hand on my bump.

"I know, it's going to be hard. I think by the time they're due Seth will just be starting his business and it's going to be hard but... What can we really do?"

She nodded, "Yeah I get that." We laid in quiet for a few minutes before getting up and heading down the stairs when things seemed quiet. We saw the boys sitting in front of the big screen and the race was just starting, they were sitting in matching pajama pants, both holding the babies the same way. I couldn't help it so I took a picture of the two of them.

Jackie got Seth and Zach a beer and herself a glass of wine and I settled with a glass of juice, sitting beside Seth on the couch. He wrapped one arm around me and Jackie sat beside Zach, rubbing Logan's back while he slept.

We snacked on different finger foods and during the commercials we would chat, until Jackie noticed that Seth seemed more worried than ever.

"What's going on?" She asked and he sighed,

"My mom is coming over for dinner next week. She's being very nice and she's trying really hard to be involved but I don't know how I feel about having her around."

"What do you mean?" Zach asked curiously.

"My whole life she's been in and out of my life over and over again, regardless of the fact we lived together. Half the time she was staying at her newest boyfriends house or she would be in her room with the door locked. I just don't see the point of getting close to her again in case she pulls that again. I don't want Bailey to see her as a grandmother and the twins getting close to her and she just checks out again. If she did I'd never be able to live with myself."

"I think if she's been trying this hard she doesn't plan on leaving Seth. You should try and trust her again." Jackie said and Seth only nodded. I knew he'd give her a second chance, but I think a part of him will never forgive her for shutting him out over and over again.
