The day of the Police Gala came quickly and I had done my hair and make up an hour before we had to leave. Seth had been hanging out with his friends for most of the day and although it bothered me that we were hardly spending together, I knew that we'd be spending time together tonight and tomorrow, and once we had our wedding we'd be back to spending time together.
"Hey baby," Seth said, coming into our ensuite to start shaving.
"Hey," I whispered, looking into the bedroom to make sure the twins and Bailey were still napping.
"Everything go good at the bakery?"
"Yeah, we closed early to get the food ready for the gala. Hannah and Susan are really excited to be helping by serving our baked goods and preparing them. "
"I bet." He said, putting the shaving cream on his face. I sat back in front of my mirror and finished the final touches of my make up, before going and pulling on my dress.
"We're leaving in twenty minutes Seth." Before zipping my dress up I bent over to pull on my heels. The bag for the twins and Bailey were already ready, they were staying with Mom for the night.
He walked out clean shaven, pulling on his black dress pants and a black button up. I knew that he'd be wearing his cowboy boots though, because- well I'm sure you know the saying.
"Alright babe, ready?"
I nodded and carried the twins downstairs in the carriers, Seth was carrying Bailey.
"Dayum!" The boys claimed, grinning,
"Couples that slay together stay together!" Aaron exclaimed and I couldn't help but smile,
"Thanks guys. We'll be back tomorrow, please do not trash the place." They all nodded, to involved in the X-box.
We went out to Seth's truck, driving down to Mom's house. Susan had already left and Bobby and Mom were sitting on the front porch talking quietly.
"Hey," I said softly, sliding out of the truck. Mom smiled,
"I'll have to get a picture of you two. You look so elegant." I nodded and Seth and I brought the kids to the spare room.
On the way out Mom stopped us and took a bunch of pictures, "I love you both, be careful and have fun." I smiled and hugged her, and Seth kissed her cheek,
"See you tomorrow Ma." We got back into the truck and started driving and I knew Seth could feel that I was upset.
"What's wrong now?" He asked, pulling out of the driveway.
"Now? What's wrong now?"
He sighed, "I didn't mean it like that baby."
"Uh huh, sure you didn't." I said, crossing my arms and looking out the window. Unfortunately it was almost a two hour ride so what was bothering me was bound to come out.
"Charlie, what's going on?" He asked, reaching over to take my hand. I sighed, and because of his gentle voice I couldn't help but feel like a spoiled brat.
"I just... I just miss you so much. Even though you're home I hardly see you and I just... I miss you. I don't really like the guy you are when you're around them." He sighed and kissed my hand,
"Alright baby... I'm sorry. I'll try to spend more time with you."
"You don't have to spend all your time with me... Because soon we'll be married and we'll have two weeks of just the two of us but I just miss you." He leaned over and kissed my head,
