Chapter 28

The trip was over way too quickly. It was by far the best week of my life and we really wanted to go back there, we even talked about having our honeymoon there one day. Mom and Dad were waiting at the airport for us, Dad was holding Bailey. She squealed loudly when she saw us and started to lean towards us, reaching her hands out. I practically dropped my carry on and ran over, taking her into my arms before hugging her tightly.

We'd been back for almost a month now, eagerly waiting the arrival of Jackie and Zach's son. The day before Valentine's Day was a huge mess. Bobby and Susan moved out and moved into Mom and Dad's house and Seth and I were glad to have the house back to ourselves in time for Valentine's Day. We were eating dinner when we got the call from Zach, they were on their way to Mapleville because Jackie was in labor.

Seth packed some food and a couple of bottles for Bailey and some snacks for us. I got the diaper bag packed for Bailey and changed into a pair of yoga pants and one of Seth's flannels. He stayed in his jeans but put on a crew neck, and we grabbed our coats and headed out the door. We followed Mom, Dad, and Bobby as they took Dad's truck. Susan and the kids were going to be coming later. The ride there was quiet, we had a lot on either of our minds. I had news since the trip that I'd been trying to find out the proper way to break it to Seth and my family.

Seth parked in the parking garage and put the diaper bag on his shoulder, getting Bailey's carrier.

I took his hand and we walked in together, meeting Zach's family in the waiting room. Everyone pretty much sat quietly while we waited, I laid my head on Seth's shoulder and played with his fingers. We all waited for another two hours before Zach came out grinning from ear to ear,

"Would you like to come and meet your nephew and grandson?" We all nodded and followed Zach in.

"This is Logan Atticus Meyers..." Jackie said, looking up from her son. He was absolutely beautiful. He had very little hair but he was absolutely beautiful. He had Jackie's nose and Zach's ears, but other than those features he was a perfect mixture between the two of them.

"He was eight pounds and nine ounces." Zach said proudly and my Dad grinned and clapped his back. Zach's brothers' grinned and we each took turns holding the baby. I watched closely as Seth held Logan, he looked like a natural. I loved the fact that he let his guard down and was even cooing at Logan.

We stayed for another twenty minutes or so before Jackie and Logan yawned so we all went into the waiting room. My stomach started to growl so I looked at Seth,

"I'm going to head to the cafeteria, did you want anything?" He shook his head but I could tell just by looking at him he was tired. I leaned over to give him a kiss, cupping his jaw,

"I love you so much."

"I love you too Char," He whispered, and I couldn't help but feel giddy. I picked Bailey up from her carrier and went to the cafeteria first, getting a sub for myself. I texted Mom to see if anyone else was hungry and she answered that she and Bobby were, but Dad would just share whatever Mom was having. I got them both a sub and then decided to get them a cheese pizza and a box of coffee. Then I realized that with Bailey in one arm there was no way I was even going to make it to the elevator. Shit.

But Mariah came over smiling,

"Need some help?" I nodded grinning,

"Yes thank God. I'm still waiting on the box of pizza and I was going to order some coffee and doughnuts but I was going to wait until the pizza was ready."

"Alright, well we'll wait. How long did they say it was going to be?"

"Probably twenty minutes."

"Well did you want to go look at the gift shop?" I nodded and she took the bags with the subs in them and we walked down the hallway to the gift shop. We got Jackie some balloons and Mariah texted Nick to come and help us carry everything.

While we waited for Nick I looked at different shirts that I was thinking of getting Seth. Mariah watched me quietly before coming and standing beside me,

"Is this why you've been acting differently?" She asked quietly and I nodded,

"Yeah. I just.. I don't know how to tell him... Or if he'll be happy."

"He loves you Charlie and he'll love you regardless."

"You don't know that Mariah. I don't even know that. This... This isn't something little."

"I know, but you'd be surprised what a man will do to stay with someone he loves."

I sighed, "I don't want to drop this on him and leave to go to Sprucebridge for two months."

"He'll probably come with you... Bobby is taking over his old job and there's a couple months he gets off before the restaurant opens up."

"I just don't know the right way to tell him."

Mariah gave me a few creative ideas and I fell in love with one of them. Nick came over smiling,

"Hey you two. Thank God Logan took after Jackie huh?" We laughed and Mariah and Nick got Jackie the balloons and I got Logan a stuffed bunny.

We got the food and went back to the room, Seth was completely asleep in the chair and most of Zach's family had gone home. I checked my account balance and decided that it would be best if we stayed in the motel down the street. My idea to tell Seth the news was in place already and all I had to wait for was him to be awake. I hugged my parents and Bobby good bye and quietly said goodbye to Zach before waking Seth. He picked up the diaper bag and followed me into the truck.

By the time we got to the motel he was fully awake and I carried Bailey in once we checked in to a room on the second floor.

"How come you were gone so long?" Seth asked, sitting on the bed once Bailey was asleep.

I swallowed hard and got my phone out, putting it so it would record what I was about to tell him. I handed him the little box and he opened it and read it. At first he was silent and wouldn't lift his head, until I realized he was crying.

"Really?" He whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

I nodded and he wiped his eyes, "This isn't a prank? It's true?" I nodded, covering my mouth. He stood up and hugged me tightly,

"I love you so much... I love you all so much."
