What are you so scared of?

Vic POV

I woke up, Alex was still sleeping. That was weird because she always wakes up before me. I checked her pulse and she was still breathing. Maybe she is going to wake up later? I got changed and checked if Damon was still here. Surprisingly he was here still sleeping.

"Is she still alive?" he said with his eyes closed. "Yes Vic, I'm talking to you, so is she?"

"Yeah, she's asleep" I said grabbing cereal. I don't even know why he spent the night here. I don't know why we agreed for him to stay.

"She is?" Damon said standing up quickly. "That's weird" he went upstairs.

"How do you know that it's weird?" I asked following him.

"Mermaids can't miss the morning, they are always up earlier." He said. Damon went to my room and checked if she was breathing. "Luckily she is alive" he said putting his head close to her chest. Why am I allowing this to happen? "We should take her to Melody and River" Damon suggested. I woke up Tony, Mike, and Jaime.

"Why?" I asked him.

"I have a bad feeling if we don't then we are in danger" Damon said staring at Alex.

"Do you guys know the address?" Damon said while we were heading to the car.

"No, I thought you were coming" Jaime said.

"I can teleport her there and it's going to take longer if we drive" Damon said getting closer to me to grab Alex. I pulled her close to me.

"How can we trust you" I said looking up at him. Just because I was shorter than him doesn't mean that I can't beat his ass.

"Fine, but I'm driving." Jaime gave him the keys and I glared at him. I held Alex's body close to mine. It was pretty silent in the car and we got to their apartment. "Hey open up the door" Damon said and River opened the door.

"What do you want?" River said rolling her eyes.

"Something happen to Alex" I said holding Alex.

"Come in" she said and we went inside.

"What happened to her?" she asked. I laid her down in the couch.

"What's going on, babe?" Melody said rubbing her eyes.

"I'll tell you later, go back to bed." Melody went back to bed. "What happen?" River turned her attention back to Alex.

"Yesterday she was using her magic and fainted." Damon said.

"What was she doing?" River said looking serious.

"She was using that one where you can shape water into something, freezing, and boiling." Damon explained.

"The shape-shift one" River said and he nod. "Damon, you know beginners can't do that."

"Why?" I asked.

"Beginners don't have that much energy to control water like that. You have to train to use your energy wisely." River explained.

"But she was doing great at freezing and boiling water" Damon said.

"If she was freezing and boiling water just fines then she can shape-shift water." River looked at Damon with confusion.

"She hasn't woken up since" I informed her.

"Wait a minute" River began to put her hands above her and she passes it through. "Her body is weird, Vic can I scan yours?" she asked turning to me.
