The stars above us hold such promises
They have witnessed the world around us
Stars have brought light to the world when there was no other
And along beside them was the moon
The moon who could be seen as half full
Or half empty...
Above our heads,
They watch over us as we lay our heads down at night
As we dream our dreams
Counting sheep
They are there to lull us to sleep.
The moon
It's nothing but a rock in space
But, it brings us comfort.
The stars,
Nothing but burning balls of carbon
But they are so beautiful.
We sometimes compare the ones we love to these two things
Trying to express their hearts beauty, and mystery
But, nothing can truly compare
As one walks outside
One foot in front of the other at night
Some think of ones they miss
Ones who can see the same stars that are above them
Others are lost in their own thoughts
The sadness
The happiness
The love
The confusion
Where ever you are,
Who ever you are with
We all witness this beauty
Some sit outside and look up
As if they are watching life unfold in-front of them
It can be romantic
Others, just walk from one place to the next
Not taking any time to appreciate their beauty.
But they are still there,
Watching us live our lives
