Yoongi paused when he entered the classroom. Right. He walked over to the seat he was assigned the previous day. He didn't mind getting a new seat. His previous one was somewhere in the middle of the room, meaning he was surrounded by people and the teacher could see him at all times. Now he was in the back corner of the room where no one would pay attention to him. Well, no one except his partner.
His teacher absolutely loved making the students work with partners. Projects, activities, discussions--all of those were done with a partner. Hopefully his new partner wasn't too bad. The boy he with for the first semester was shy and could barely say a word Yoongi who was considered one of the 'cool kids.' At least he did the work.
To be honest, Yoongi was nervous. The girl who sat next to him in the back certainly wasn't the most... normal person. He could tell. For one, her hair was dyed various pastel colors, like a pastel rainbow. It was cut just below her shoulders. She pulled it off well, and Yoongi wondered where she got it done.
Yoongi noticed early on that she was in all but one of his classes, yet they never talked. They just knew each other the way two random classmates knew each other: name and appearance. That wasn't to say that this girl was any random classmate. [Surname] [Name] was a name that was remembered by anyone who met the girl. She wasn't popular. She wasn't famous. She wasn't special in any way, yet she was unique in a way that attracted attention in secret. Many people brushed off the odd feeling they got from [Name]. Yoongi didn't. He didn't stalk her or anything; he just payed attention. When the class screamed out answers or comments, Yoongi listened to [Name]. When the students made demonstrations, Yoongi watched [Name].
She was definitely strange. One thing that stood out to him was the way she acted completely different in each class and around each person. In one class she would be shy and quiet, in another loud and silly. Time for another class and suddenly she was the lazy and bored kid. When talking to one person, she'd be sassy and sarcastic, towards another she'd be cold and rude, and towards yet another she would act sweet and bubbly. She fit anywhere and everywhere on the personality spectrum. It fascinated Yoongi.
But now [Name] was his partner. He couldn't just watch from afar. How would she react to him? Yoongi hoped that they'd get along. After all, they were stuck with each other for the rest of the year.
"Alright class! Since we only switched seats at the end of class, I'm going to give you ten minutes to get to know your new partner. Time starts now!"
Yoongi was pretty sure that his teacher only gave them this time because she didn't want to teach. Either way, that meant he had to talk to [Name]. Or maybe he wouldn't. She was unpredictable. He had no idea what she would want to do.
Yoongi turned around just to be met with a finger stuck in his face. More specifically, his cheek.
"Um."
"I'm sorry! You're cheeks just looked so squishy! I had to poke them," the girl said. So this is the personality that she's showing to me.
"It's alright, I guess..." Yoongi wasn't sure what to think. He actually thought that she'd act more coldly towards him, or at least shyly. Instead, she acted really familiarly with him right away. He felt slightly uncomfortable, as he wasn't a people person, but he decided to ignore it. Yoongi needed to make sure he got along with this girl. It would be a pain if he didn't.
"Min Yoongi, right?" she asked suddenly.
"Yeah. [Surname] [Name], right?" He knew her name, but he felt he needed to ask.
"Yep! By the way, I really like your hair!" His hair was a natural looking pink. Well, as natural as pink hair could look.
"Oh. Thank you... Yours looks really cool. Where'd you get it done?" Yoongi decided to ask.
"This? I did it myself." [Name] smiled. Yoongi's eyes widened.
"Really? That's pretty cool."
"Thank you! My sister dyed her hair a lot when she was my age and I guess I kinda picked up her habit. I learned to do it myself because getting it professionally done is really expensive and I have a hard time explaining to them what I want. Also, I can experiment with my hair however I like. It's pretty nice. So if you ever needa get your hair done for a lot cheaper, just give me a call!" [Name] winked and Yoongi allowed himself to slip a small smile.
"I can't really give you a call if I don't have your number." Wait. Shit, that sounded like I was flirting, didn't it... Yoongi mentally slapped himself.
"That's true." Her next action was not what he expected. [Name] took out a notecard and scribbled something on the front. Then she held it out for Yoongi to take. He accepted the notecard with confusion. He looked at the writing. It was the girl's name and number. "You'll need it for the upcoming project anyways."
"Project?"
"Oh yeah, you don't know. Our teacher is assigning a project today. My friend told me. She's missing next week because of some family matters so she asked the teacher what she's going to miss."
Before Yoongi could answer, the teacher called out to get everyone's attention and began the lesson. He glanced at [Name] who rested her head on her hand as she listened to the teacher. After shaking his head, he slipped the card in his pocket and also turned his attention to the teacher.
It was only as he was walking home that he realized that the teacher never assigned any project.
A/N: HELLO MY LOVELY READERS. Black Dragon here! This is my first time writing a fanfic for anyone other than an anime character so I hope you enjoy! I'm trying to make the character of [Name] really interesting so please tell me what you think of both the story and the character as I go through with this. My bias is actually Rap Monster but I felt that this story would fit Suga more.
Please don't steal my ideas! Tell me what you think and enjoy :) That's all I'll say for now (it's late and I needa sleep). Bye~
