He was honestly just planning on asking her out on a date and seeing how that went, not immediately confessing his feelings. Who even did that anymore? This was not going according to plan at all. He just saw her sitting there, the sunlight warming her, and he lost control of his brain-to-mouth filter for a moment. A moment was enough for him to tell her of the strongest feelings he had for her. This was not good. Shit.

Yoongi opened his mouth. What was he even supposed to say about that? What was there to say? He could take it back, but he wouldn't. Playing it off as a joke would be the worst thing to do. He might as well wait for an answer.

His heart was beating too fast. He could feel it pounding in his chest. It was only a few seconds before she replied, and it didn't feel like much more. Didn't stop too many thoughts from running through his head. He took in a breath.

"Is this a joke?" she asked. He frowned.

"What?"

"Sorry! I didn't mean that in a bad way! It's just, well, I've been asked out as a joke a few times before so..." [Name] explained. She rubbed her arm awkwardly, looking away.

"It's not a joke. I really do like you a lot," Yoongi confessed. Might as well get it all out there. He watched [Name] let out a soft breath.

"Oh, okay. That's good. I like you too," she admitted. Yoongi blinked. He had to be dreaming. It wasn't that he couldn't believe that she could like him. Yoongi had wasn't one of those people who thought they didn't have a single chance. He knew he was close to [Name] and that they got along well enough that it could be a possibility. She was just one of those people who he was never completely sure with. There were people who seemed like they liked someone when really they just thought they were cool and really wanted to be good friends. [Name] definitely could be one of those people.

"Wait, really?" he asked, just to make sure. He could never be too sure with those types of things.

"Yeah." [Name] grinned at him, visibly nervous but also a little excited. His heart was still beating rapidly, but he didn't mind as much now. He was excited. Yoongi felt his hands tremble a little bit.

"So, uh," he forced himself to keep his eyes on [Name] and not look away like some blushing anime schoolgirl. "are we supposed to go on a date or something?"

"Um. That's a good question. I mean, technically this could be a date? It's just us and we're out having fun and talking and shit, right? That's basically it, I think. Is there anything else that's supposed to happen?" [Name] asked. As great as she was at giving relationship advice, according to her friends, that advice did not extend to the basic things like how dates worked and things like that, Yoongi had learned. They were going to have some trouble. It's not that Yoongi knew nothing, as he did have a little bit of experience with some relationships, but it wasn't a great amount. He was only in high school after all.

"Yeah, I guess so. We can just... go with things and see how everything goes and figure stuff out later, if you want," Yoongi offered. [Name] nodded.

"That would be nice," she confirmed. She wasn't looking at him anymore and Yoongi let himself slowly let out a quiet breath, finally looking away. This was definitely not how he had expected his day to go at all, but he didn't mind. Somehow, the girl he liked returned his feelings. Didn't get much better than that.

The silence took over again. It was tense, as much as Yoongi didn't want it to be. He guessed it was to be expected, since this was a pretty big change in their relationship. Knowing [Name], she wouldn't let the change affect their relationship too much. Yoongi just needed to remember that they were still close friends.

"Wanna go to a cafe or something? Someone recommended this one place that opens pretty early I think. It shouldn't be too far from my place, so we can go there and just hang out or something. And we wanted to figure out the whole recording thing so that I can start getting my music out there and stuff. We should do that," [Name] suggested.

"Sounds good. Should we go now?" he asked. [Name] nodded, standing up. She brushed herself off and looked out at the forest again. Again, just for a moment, she seemed magical. He wanted to catch the moment somehow, but he knew the camera hanging from his neck wouldn't do it justice. He wasn't an amazing photographer or anything. Just a high school boy who was way too cheesy.

He followed [Name], listening to her remember some silly story from a class that she somehow hadn't told him yet. Yoongi listened, adding in his own short stories occasionally and laughing. Yoongi relaxed, not really sure why he was worried at all. Everything was going well and Yoongi was just waiting for the dreaded moment of Seokjin screaming "I told you so!" before telling everyone else. For now though, he'd enjoy the date.
