Yoongi was sitting in his room, working on a song for BTS, when his phone rang. It was actually Skype, the app that [Name] had forced him to get so that she could spam him with random memes all the time and call him whenever she wanted. not that Yoongi really minded. He actually really liked her surprise calls.
This was yet another one of them. Yoongi answered the call with a smile on his face. He tried to fight it back when he answered her "yo," with a "hello." He couldn't let her know that he was actually excited, now could he? He didn't need her knowing he liked her. [Name] wasn't the typical completely oblivious protagonist, although Ange had said that's exactly what she was when it came to people liking her. Even so, he'd rather be safe than sorry. There was no need to have [Name] knowing he maybe liked her.
"Ay, you're not busy, are you?" she asked. Yoongi laughed. Since when did that even stop her?
"No, I'm not. What's up?" he replied.
"Well I'm walking to the store to buy some hair dye since my sister and my parents took the cars so I need company on my half-hour walk to the shop," she explained. Yoongi raised an eyebrow that she couldn't see.
"You could have asked. I could've given you a ride and maybe even picked up some stuff for my own hair."
"Nah, it's cool. Do you want anything though? You can pay me back later and we can have a fun hair day together sometime." He heard her laugh. He couldn't help but smile as well.
"I was thinking of actually doing mint next. If you can get some stuff for that, I'll pay you back next time I see you."
"Which will be tonight because I'm invading your house with cookies today."
"That's... nice I guess." Yoongi wasn't sure when exactly [Name] had started dropping in randomly, occasionally bringing food. Again, he really liked it. He got to spend lots of time with her and even get a new person to give him advice on his songs. She'd give advice on what he could change to make them better which he always took into account. He wanted her to like his music.
"God, what is that kid doing?!" [Name] exclaimed. "Is he trying to act cool or something? Dude, you do not just ride around in a circle in the middle of the street when a car is about to turn! Actually, you just generally don't ride around in circles in the middle of streets!" Yoongi could imagine [Name] shaking her head at the random kid she saw out on the streets. She continued walking, talking about random things and pointing out stuff she saw. Yoongi listened, occasionally saying something himself. He enjoyed listening to [Name] talk. She talked a lot, filling up the silence he usually left. It was strangely enjoyable.
"Oh. Great. My sister ate the cookies. Great!" [Name] sighed. "Well, looks like you're coming over tonight. I'll invite Ange and Hoseok too. Maybe we can get them to do something shippy," [Name] said. She didn't give Yoongi room to protest, but he didn't really mind. He didn't mind a lot of things when it came to [Name]. He didn't mind at all.
"That sounds cool," he answered. It wasn't like she'd take no for an answer. He'd end up making cookies with her whether he wanted to or not. It would be nice though. He'd have fun.
[Name] went on talking.
"Oh fuck. It's Hyungjae. Quick, Yoongi, what do I do?!" she exclaimed. Hyungjae. He was the annoying guy who always bothered [Name]. Yoongi was only slightly annoyed with his constant need to get all touchy with [Name]. Of course. He was only annoyed because the guy was bothering his friend. It wasn't like he didn't like someone else being so close to [Name] physically. Not that [Name] ever really let the guy come close, which calmed Yoongi.
"Um, hide your face and walk away?" Yoongi offered. He heard [Name] curse and sigh.
"Too late for that, he saw me already. Can I pretend that I'm just a person that looks strangely similar to myself?" she asked. Yoongi let a small chuckle escape his lips.
"I don't think that'll work very well."
"Oh wait! Hell yeah! The light turned red and he's on the other side of the street. Ha! Time to get out of here." Yoongi listened to [Name] tell him her plan. A fond smile spread across his face. He was just having a great day. Yes. That was totally the reason he was randomly smiling.
A few minutes later, she was still talking and she was complaining about the light not turning green. She started telling him some random story about her travels when suddenly she stopped.
"Oh fuck." Those were the last words Yoongi heard before the call suddenly ended and he couldn't hear [Name]'s voice anymore. He stared at his phone for a second in confusion before the panic started to settle. "Oh fuck" never meant something good. He immediately tried calling her again, both on Skype and on her cell. Neither picked up. He started spamming her, the annoying username that she'd chosen (he'd never admit that he liked it) being the only one he saw as no reply came from her.
sugasweet: hey
sugasweet: what happened??
sugasweet: im seriously worried
sugasweet: [NAME]
sugasweet: WHAT HAPPENED
sugasweet: ARE YOU ALIVE
sugasweet: SERIOUSLY WHAT HAPPENED
He continued on in that spirit for another two or three minutes with no success. His breaths grew shorter as he grabbed a sweater and searched for his car keys. He knew what store [Name] was talking about so she'd be somewhere between his house and the store. He'd just drive and see if he could see her. He wouldn't be as worried if she'd just randomly cut out, as she was using her data to call him and that shit was never reliable. But of course he'd be worried when she cut out with such a dramatic ending. He really just hoped she was alive. He really hoped she was alive.
