Battle of the Bands was coming up. Namjoon was gathering everyone more often and Hoseok was getting stricter with the dance routine. Yoongi didn't really talk to [Name] as much as he would like to, as he was practicing his raps, the dance, and trying to keep up with school work. She understood, as she always did, thankfully. They'd still talk in class, if Yoongi wasn't falling asleep. When he was, she'd make sure to fill him in on everything he missed while catching up on much needed rest.
It was just a school competition that BTS was opening and closing for, but they always put forward their best work. They would never have gotten so far if they didn't. Getting their name out into the world wasn't easy. They worked incredibly hard to make people enjoy their performances.
Yoongi thought back to the times he'd heard [Name] sing. She had a beautiful voice. It was very calming. It was smooth and flowed so well. Yoongi could imagine a scene straight out of a fantasy book when she sang. He thought of how she would look on the edge of a cliff, singing to the wind. How sad that fantasy would never be reality. Sometimes Yoongi wondered if [Name] was meant to be born into a different world. A world of fairies, dragons, castles, and magic. He thought she'd fit in quite well. [Name] was a magical person, or at least as magical as one could be in this world.
The point was, Yoongi wondered if she was going to participate. Usually she'd tell him something like that, but she could be forgetful or think she already mentioned it. He should probably ask.
Yoongi checked the time. Only a few minutes before class ended and he could meet up with [Name] for a minute before going off to practice with the boys. He let out a quiet sigh. Time always seemed to go a lot slower when there was something to wait for.
He tapped his pen impatiently until a student next to him glared at Yoongi. He sighed and stopped, opting to just twirl it around in his hand instead. The second hand was barely moving in his eyes. He couldn't really focus on the words leaving the teacher's mouth. He usually focused pretty well, but it was one of those days. He just wanted to get out of the classroom and surround himself in music. Was that really so much to ask for?
Yoongi sighed softly once again and looked around the classroom. The teacher was pointing at some term on the board that would be online later anyways. Some kid in the front was furiously scribbling down notes. Someone a few seats away from Yoongi was doodling, unable to focus just like him. He closed his eyes for a moment. The bell rang and immediately everyone grabbed their things and bolted out of the classroom. Yoongi spotted [Name] quickly and found his way to her through the students trying to get out of school as quickly as they could, as if they'd be trapped in the school forever if they didn't get out within a minute.
He smiled at her and she waved with a wide smile, as she usually did.
"Don't you have practice with they guys today?" she asked. Yoongi almost forgot how much he talked to her. She knew basically everything about him at this point. Then again, he knew a lot about her too. By now he knew most of her favorite artists, when her piano and dance classes were, and lots of random facts about her and her life. Yoongi spent a large amount of time talking to [Name].
"In a bit," he answered. The hallways were almost empty now. There were a few students still walking around.
"Battle of the Bands, right? I can't wait to see you guys!" she exclaimed. Yoongi nodded, smiling. He remembered his question.
"Are you going to participate? You know, with your song?" he asked. [Name] laughed and shook her head.
"Please. There's no way I could stand in front of that many people and sing. It's hard enough in front of you and Angel, you know? I couldn't do it on a stage," [Name] explained. She shook her head again. "No way."
"I'm sure you could do it. Just practice a lot. And you've sang for us already, right? It's easier after you sing in front of one person first." Yoongi knew everyone would love her singing. Of course, it was too late now, but maybe she'd take a chance later. She had more potential than she thought.
"Maybe some other day. After we start our channel and start getting stuff up there, maybe," she decided, winking. Yoongi grinned. He couldn't wait to start working on music with her.
"Alright. Sounds good." Yoongi pulled out his phone to check the time. "Shit, I have to go. I'll talk to you later!"
"Go do your famous person stuff," [Name] said, laughing. She shoved him gently and waved as Yoongi turned away. He rolled his eyes and waved before hurrying away to find his friends. He thought about [Name], as he did a lot of the time. Maybe he should just ask her out. She seemed like the type of person who wouldn't treat him differently even if she rejected him. It wouldn't cause much of a problem, right? So he'd sulk for a few days. And then they'd be perfectly fine again. Of course, if there was the possibility of him sulking for a few days, it would be better to do it after everything important was out of the way. Like their performance. Yeah, he'd wait. He could wait a bit. His feelings for [Name] weren't going anywhere.
