Yoongi groaned and all but slammed his head against his desk. He couldn't get any lyrics down, English was hell, and his stupid crush was on his mind. This is why Yoongi didn't like crushes. They were distracting and often hopeless. He couldn't do anything about it. Unfortunately, he couldn't just say "go the fuck away, crush," and never think about it again.
Usually talking about the things on his mind would help him clear it. Usually he'd talk to Namjoon, but he said he was really busy this weekend and Yoongi didn't want to bother him. Hoseok was "studying" with Ange, so he couldn't bother him either. Talking to other younger kids wouldn't work, since they weren't serious enough and Yoongi just didn't understand how to explain things to them. He knew they'd listen if he talked to them, but Yoongi just didn't feel comfortable with that. He couldn't talk to [Name], as part of what he needed to talk about was about her. Yoongi was not planning on confessing his feelings to her anytime soon. And that left Seokjin.
Yoongi sighed and picked up his phone. He could already imagine Seokjin's smug "I told you so" face. Yoongi would have to admit that he had, in fact, been correct and Yoongi did get a crush on [Name]. It was bound to happen eventually. At least Yoongi had held out for longer that Seokjin thought on asking for advice.
Seokjin didn't take very long to pick up. He immediately greeted Yoongi.
"Hey, Jin. I hope you're not busy. I just need someone to talk to right now," Yoongi muttered. He put his phone on speaker and set it down on his desk.
"Of course I don't, but wouldn't you rather talk to [Name]?" Yoongi could hear that goddamn smirk.
"I can't really talk to her because, well, it's about her," Yoongi explained. Seokjin let out a soft squeal. Yoongi rolled his eyes. "Before you say anything, yes. You were right. You told me so. I like [Name]. Is that all you wanted to hear? Just give me advice now please."
"Ah, Yoongi, you're all grown up now!"
"Jin, you're only a few months older than me."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever. You want advice, right? I honestly don't think you need much. I'm pretty sure she likes you too so just keep talking to her, don't friendzone her, and just ask her out soon, honestly. It'll be fine. Maybe you don't notice, but everyone else can see she's interested in you as well. Ange wouldn't make all those comments about the two of you if she didn't know that [Name] likes you, and Ange knows [Name] better than any of us."
"But what if--"
"Shut up, Yoongi. Now you're just making excuses," Seokjin cut him off immediately. Yoongi sighed. Seokjin was right, but what was he supposed to do about it? It wasn't that easy to just go up and ask someone out, especially [Name]. Yoongi closed his eyes, pinching the bridge of his nose. A small rectangle appeared in the corner of his laptop screen, a soft noise accompanying it. He looked up, reading the message.
raindrops: 6 am saturday at my house
raindrops: i have something to show you
Yoongi quickly typed out a response, not bothering to question the time anymore, and agreed. It was only Sunday, so he had time to question her.
"Is that [Name] sending you a message again?" Seokjin asked. Yoongi could hear that goddamn smirk again. He rolled his eyes. Thank god Seokjin couldn't see him.
"Does it matter?" he asked, already knowing the answer.
"Well you did call me to talk about your crush, didn't you?" Seokjin said. Yoongi groaned and dropped his head down, letting it hit his desk. He knew he shouldn't have told Seokjin, but it was relieving to finally admit his feelings to someone. Yoongi wasn't a person that talked about his feelings much, but he did need to let them out occasionally. Seokjin was generally a pretty good listener, so Yoongi usually went to him to talk. He really should have been expecting Seokjin's reaction. Even so, Seokjin was the most trustworthy person to tell. He wouldn't bother Yoongi in public about it, unlike the others. Seokjin was trustworthy and he wouldn't make Yoongi's feelings obvious.
"Whatever, Jin. Thanks for the advice. Bye," he said quickly. Before the elder could respond, Yoongi hung up. He'd gotten the thoughts that were distracting him off his chest. It was enough for him to think a little bit more clearly and concentrate a bit more on writing lyrics. He wrote down a few more before switching to work on a beat he'd been having trouble with. Yoongi would work on his music for hours, but it payed off. It sounded great, and he wasn't the only one who thought that way. Huge numbers of people commented about BTS' music every time they put something up, and Yoongi composed a large amount of it. He occasionally put up the things he composed alone as well, on the same channel. Everyone had playlists with their personal songs and covers. Occasionally they'd work in pairs or groups as well. Online, they were quite famous. Even in the school, really. Yoongi was proud of all of them and himself. After years of music being his passion, it was finally heard. He'd made a lot of progress both alone and with the others. Yoongi was proud.
raindrops: how's your music coming along?
Yoongi smiled. Caring as always. [Name] would always check up on him and listen to his music, even if it was incomplete. She shared a passion for music similar similar to his. They'd share recommendations often and sometimes talk for hours doing just that. Sometimes their topics would drift to something else, like [Name]'s travels or Yoongi's stories about the group. Yoongi enjoyed their conversations and wished they could go on forever.
Yoongi typed out a response to [Name], forgetting his music despite it being their topic of conversation. She always had a way of doing that. It was ridiculous. Yoongi really needed to snap out of the ridiculous state of mind his brain went into every time they talked. He just needed to function like a normal human around her, was that too much to ask? Apparently so. Why did he need to get such idiotic feelings?
A response from [Name] interrupted his thoughts and once again, he spent hours talking to her with everything forgotten.
