Spectrum [Min Yoongi x Reader]

Chapter 22

Yoongi had tried to find [Name] in the audience, but he only had seconds before the music was on and it was time to perform. Clear your mind, focus, perform. There were too many people anyways and most of them were far away. He had decided to talk to her after the show. Until then, he'd deliver an amazing performance that everyone would love. That's what they did as a group.

When the lights went out and the audience stood up, cheering, he finally let his arms drop, trying to get as much air into his body as possible. There was sweat dripping down his forehead and he really just wanted to get that off as soon as possible. And go see [Name]. The top two things on his to-do list at the moment were getting the sweat off and finding [Name]. The lights went back on. He waved, smiling from the energy he still had somehow. Adrenaline, he guessed. It would be gone soon.

In a blur, they got off the stage and cleaned themselves up. Yoongi didn't stick around for long. He didn't need to say anything for everyone to understand he was proud. He just grinned, waved, and left. Yoongi knew that if he was going to say something to [Name] without chickening out, now was his chance. He was full of energy and confidence that wouldn't last long, so he had to take advantage of it while he had it.

Finding [Name] wasn't very hard. She was waiting for him not too far from the room where everyone who performed left their belongings. The bright hair helped a bit as well.

She perked up when she spotted him and ran over. Yoongi almost laughed at the way she was practically shaking from excitement. She barely gave him time to wave before speaking.

"That was so cool! You guys were awesome on stage. And you guys did all of my favorite songs! Was that intentional?" [Name] asked. Yoongi looked away.

"Well, I did have a say, as a member of the group," Yoongi said, smiling innocently. She smiled brightly. As cheesy as it sounded, that smile was definitely worth all the teasing he suffered when the others realized he had a list of all of [Name]'s favorite songs by them. Yoongi wished it was socially acceptable to slap yourself in public because he really needed to do that.

"It was great, really. You're really cool on stage. I mean, off stage too, although you can also be kinda lame, but yeah. Very cool." She nodded to herself and looked around. Probably for Ange. This would be a good time. If not now, when? He just needed to ask her out. He was ready. It would be fine.

Yoongi breathed in and calmed his thoughts. He knew the words he was going to say and he was going to say them.

And just as he was about to open his mouth to speak, he saw Ange walk up right behind [Name] and tap her shoulder. The words died in his mouth as he watched the girl explain that their ride was there and that they should leave soon. Just like that, his confidence and energy was gone. Suddenly Yoongi was very, very tired and he just wanted to go home and sleep. He'd see [Name] the next morning anyways, right? It was all fine. He could talk to her then. For now, sleep.

He barely processed her turning back to him to say goodbye and his own wave. Yoongi was very tired and now he just wanted to sleep. His plan failed. It was a little sad. It was okay.

He fell asleep almost immediately after his head hit his pillow. He barely remembered to set an alarm so that he'd wake up early enough. When it did go off, he turned it off and almost fell asleep again. Just as he was about to drift off, he realized why he set an alarm so early in the first place. He rolled out of bed, trying not to make too much noise as he hit the ground. His parents were still sleeping and they'd probably stay that way for a while. He'd have some time.

Yoongi got dressed quickly and silently left the house. He grabbed his keys, phone, and camera before running out and hurrying to [Name]'s house. He didn't want to keep her waiting, especially so early in the morning. He was glad he remembered to put his camera down by his phone before going to sleep or else he definitely would have forgotten it.

[Name] was waiting outside of her house, wrapped up in a ridiculously long scarf. She looked up at the sound of his footsteps and waved as he approached. He couldn't see very well in the dark, but he was pretty sure she was smiling. Definitely worth waking up so early. Besides, [Name]'s random adventures never disappointed him. He was sure the sunrise would be as beautiful as she said.

"You ready?" she asked when he came closer.

"Lead the way," Yoongi answered. [Name] bumped his shoulder and started walking.

"Let's go then."

srry it was short

this chapter was actually supposed to be one with the next, but this one just started coming out so bad that i decided to just finish this one up quickly and write the next one as a separate chapter because i want it to be really nice and not related to this shitty chapter lol o well

also i kinda forgot to mention this in the previous chapter but i was working on a song for a while ? and you might know if you follow me and look at my activity but this was a while ago so you might also not. It's not amazing, but it's the first time i really did something this big and my friend did the instrumental. we're not professionals so it's obviously not super good or anything, but we both worked really hard so i'd really appreciate it if you guys checked it out. it's called "And She'll Sing for You" and it's the first song we did together. hopefully we'll do more stuff together soon, but both of us are really busy with school and other stuff, so it's hard to find time. anyways, if you have a few extra minutes please check it out in the media!

also, just curious, what were your favorite tracks from the new album? i really love mic drop but tbh sea just makes me feel so many emotions and tae's line in the end ;-;
