Chapter 20

Hoseok kind of really wanted to ask Ange out. But more than that, he really wanted to see her smile more and stop looking like she was about to fall asleep every second of the day. He knew she worked hard, too hard sometimes, and she was really tired. She barely got any sleep, as he figured out from her strange messages from two in the morning that he woke up to on some days. More days than was normal.

And so Hoseok decided he needed to get Ange to relax. And if dragging her out right after school by force was the way to do it, he would. He did. Hoseok found Ange right after school and dragged her out. He knew she didn't have homework. He had some classes with her and the others he checked with Namjoon, who also had a few classes with her. It seemed to be one of those really rare days where there wasn't much going on, so he decided it was the perfect day to get her to finally go outside and do something fun instead of sitting at home and doing math or some other boring shit.

She didn't struggle very much, surprisingly. After a weak "Hoseok, where are you taking me?" she just went with it and didn't question him much. It was probably because she was so tired.

He decided the first stop would be ice cream in the park nearby. Ice cream was always the best way to start a fun and relaxing time.

"What's your favorite flavor?" Hoseok asked. He could see Ange pulling out her wallet and he waited for her answer before forcing her hand back into her pocket. He was the one dragging her out so he would pay.

"No, Hoseok, let me pay," she protested as Hoseok ordered the ice cream and payed. The cashier smiled knowingly at Hoseok as Ange struggled pay for her own ice cream. He successfully prevented her from paying and handed her the mango ice cream. She huffed and accepted it. Hoseok grinned at her and pulled her along to the actual park.

"So why are we eating ice cream in a park on a Wednesday? Don't you have some practice or whatever for the show on Friday?" she asked, confused. He was spending a surprisingly little amount of time bothering her the last few days, due to the constant practice. He worked hard and he had to make sure everyone knew the choreographies. She knew that, so Ange was trying to understand why Hoseok was with her, and even if he did have a break, why he was spending his free time with her.

"We have a break today. Also, you need to relax. You're always cooped up in your room doing homework and boring things like that. You need to get outside sometimes and have fun!" Hoseok told her.

"I do have fun! In my room. I read books and sleep!" Ange exclaimed. Hoseok rolled his eyes.

"Sure. Anyways, I think you need to go outside more and we're both pretty free today so I decided to go out with you," he said. He grinned as Ange looked away to avoid eye contact. She sighed.

"Okay, sure. Whatever." She decided to just go with it, which surprised Hoseok.

"Wow, you must be really tired. You never just go with my ideas like this," he said, surprised. Ange usually struggled to get away from Hoseok and do some homework or something boring like that. Then again, she couldn't use the excuse of homework this one time. Now Hoseok had an excuse to spend time with Ange and try to make her smile.

"Guess I am," she laughed. Ange followed Hoseok slowly through the park. He started talking and she listened, occasionally responding, but mainly listening. She preferred to just take in everything he was saying. Over time, Ange relaxed and responded more, laughing and smiling. She didn't look as tired anymore and Hoseok was proud that he was able to help her have fun and relax. He really hoped he'd be able to do this more often. Maybe if he asked her out and she agreed, it would happen. Although, that was pretty wishful thinking. He'd never know if he didn't try though. Soon, he decided. Soon.

srry this was gonna be cute and fluffy but it just wasn't working out but i had like a page so i couldn't just trash this chapter (i'm too lazy to start it over lol) so i finished it up
