"So what are you up to?" Hiro appeared from the door. Referring the question to Gogo. They were in the physics lab. Just the two of them. School was over and everyone went home.
Gogo was sitting in the front row table with the class door open, letting Hiro to have her in sight when he walked by. She was writing some difficult equations and having to plan some project on the topic given.
"I just have this assignment Proffesor Callaghan gave." She tapped the pencil she was holding on her head before she looked up at him with an idea lighting up in her mind. "Uhh, could you help me pass this one? I would really appreciate it if you do." This assignment meant a lot to her, half of her whole life depended on it. She just can't do it on her own because it really requires a genius' help.
"I'm sorry Gogo but I'm pretty busy too. Proffesor Callaghan wanted me to prepare for this Worldwide Robotics Competition," Hiro apologised. But one thing for sure was that he wasn't busy. He lied to Gogo.
"I can help you with that if you help me." Gogo wouldn't give up. She was really desperate. She stopped Hiro from leaving.
"Now that would be cheating. I don't want to get into trouble." Before he managed to escape this conversation, Gogo's words later atrracted his attention and made his heart pound a little faster. "Then, I'll, I'll," she hesitated. "I'll go to prom with you."
Hiro was flattered with soft happiness. He felt delighted. Flushed. The girl of his dreams is going to prom with him. "I thought prom isn't your thing?" He hid his red face, still not facing her. He faced his shoulder as he spoke. Besides, he didn't want to look like he really wanted to go to prom with Gogo too. So he brought up another question to stall a little before letting her in.
"Well I will go if you help me out here." Gogo looked like she regretted saying it but she had no choice. "This is really important to me. And if prom is to you, then," she hesitated. "Then I have no choice but to make sacrifices."
"It's not that prom is that big of a deal to me, I just wanted a partner, you know.." Hiro explained which turn into fast mumbles.
Gogo raised an eyebrow at him with her hands crossed which causes him to shut up. "Okay, whatever. Deal." He raised one hand to shake on hers. Gogo shook on it and their eyes met. Hiro saw something in hers as she tried to stay cool as possible. Maybe it was desperation. Or maybe it was a zing.
