Taking Part

"This is really heavy." Elsa held Astrid's bow. She took part in archery along with Merida. The field was kind of crowded.

Some were practicing, some were cheering, some were accompanying their friends and some just like to read books on the feild despite the noisy crowd.

"Merida's is heavier." Both turned to the red haired girl. She just shot three arrows at the same time and all three of them hit the target.

"She's really good at this." Astrid complimented and Elsa couldn't agree more.

"Yeah and good at attracting attention too." Elsa pointed at Hiccup and Jack using her chin. They were tying their sport shoes while eyeing Merida. It's not that they think she's hot or anything. Hiccup was just having a flashback of what he said to her the other day.

"You had to tell me." Astrid walked out of the scene. She was slightly pissed but not mad enough for her to hate her best friend.

"Hey, I do what's best for my friend." Elsa held Astrid's shoulder. "Even if it would hurt you." They shared a small embrace and continued walking across the field towards Ruffnut and Heather who were sitting at the seats, watching people.

"Did you think she saw us?" Hiccup asked his pal. They had to squint their eyes since the Sun was shining bright while warming up before going for a run.

"Oh, she saw us," Jack said calmly after getting his shoes tied then took his water bottle and handphone, leaving Hiccup. He was confused when he managed to catch up. "What, and you didn't tell me?"

"What was I suppose to say?" Jack didn't make eye contact. Instead, he just looked straight as looking into your own reflection in the mirror. For a moment, Hiccup thought he was mad at him but it didn't seem that way.

"How about, hey I think Astrid saw us and now she's leaving," Hiccup said without a point. It didn't make sense to Jack and it didn't make sense to Hiccup. He didn't know what he was talking about. It just blurted out of him. But Jack didn't question it because he had a better question to ask. Actually, more to a statement. "You still like her! Gosh," Jack sighed heavily. Hiccup got his head spinning although he was the one who jumped into his friend's love life.

"So what? I still love Astrid Hofferson! I still think about her every night! I love her so much that I had to follow her everywhere without her knowing. So what?" Hiccup repeated, unaware that some people were a little bit listening but decided to stay out of this and not eavesdrop.

"'So what?' What do you mean 'so what'? You still have feelings for Astrid and you asked Merida to the dance and you're asking me 'so what'?" Jack knew he could win this argument and Hiccup let him. Even if Hiccup won't let him, he would still win.

"I don't know. It's like.. I don't know anymore." Hiccup sighed and looked down to his shoes, his fingers were playing the end of his jersey.

"It's like falling in love with two people." Jack spoke for Hiccup's heart. And Jack realised he was speaking for his too.
