Our Night On Valentine's Day

Astrid was tired so she sat on the benches at one of the sides of the gym, alone. She wasn't doing anything but just examining the place, looking at everyone being happy when she herself was not.

The girls approached her along with their boyfriends, saying that she needs some motivation. They surrounded her like a barrier, protecting her from the evil things on the other side.

"Still partnerless?" Snotlout spoke even if 'partnerless' wasn't a word. Ruffnut elbowed his arm but he didn't feel pain since he started working out last year.

But Astrid wasn't offended. She was used to Snotlout annoying her. Usually she would hit him everytime he did but that time, she didn't. "Shut up Snotlout." Astrid didn't sass this time.

"Hey." Eugene kneeled down to her level. "You'll be fine." He gave her a warm friendly smile but responded with a sad one.

"Yeah Astrid, you're an amazing girl. Hiccup's my pal but if he can't see that, then that's his lost." Kristoff put one hand over Anna's shoulder ans kissed her head.

"Speak of the devil." Elsa raised her eyebrows towards the entrance. The others faced at what she was looking at. The small surprising look on their faces made Astrid stand up and look at the entrance too.

And there he was, in a fine suit. His hair was combed back and he borrowed one of Jack's cologne. He walked among the dancers and stopped in the middle of it, smiling at Astrid from a far distance. The next thing she knew was that her friends were all gone to the dance floor, exposing her to the other side of the barrier.

For one crazy minute, she didn't feel mad. She walked down towards him like she was walking down the red carpet with the school photographers took pictures of both of them. They didn't mind them because it didn't feel like it mattered. What mattered was that they're good now. They weren't fighting. They weren't arguing. They were in love.

Astrid hugged Hiccup and apologised for the mistakes she'd done and he forgave her as always. They then stayed that way and danced while the night was still young.
