"Why did you do it? Why did you ask me to the dance?" The black haired with purple higlighters was blowing pink bubblegums and popping them, making Hiro even more nervous with every popping sound. He was in his garage next to his aunt's cafe with Gogo, helping her with Proffesor Callaghan's assignment as he promised so that he'll get his wish in return.

"I don't know. I had no one else to go with," Hiro said dumbly. And Gogo thought it was a lame excuse but decided to shut up about it. "Seriuosly why?"

"Hey I bought something for you." He shove his hands into his pockets to grab something as Gogo waited patiently.

"Here." He handed a pack of blueberry flavoured bubblegum to her. Gogo was slightly stunned. She didn't expect this but she kept it cool. She blew her bangs away before pushing them back behind her ears.

"Why?" She held the pack with little pressure, making it look like it was about to get pulled by gravity.

"You didn't like it?" Hiro stopped doing what he was doing before and looked at Gogo straight into her big eyes.

"Why?" Gogo ignored his question and insisted on getting answers from him. She leaned in closer, making him feel harder to breathe. He was afraid that his breath might stink and didn't want to breathe into her face, scared she would smell it.

It was him who was supposed to keep cool. It was him who pulled the trigger. But she survived his shot.

His red shirt turned dark on the back, wet with his nervous sweat. His body started to smell but to Gogo, it didn't smell bad. He smelled like a boy. And she was fine with that.

"Because," he started to mumble his wild, uncontrollable thoughts. He faced the other way, breathing loudly, heart beating fast. A drop of sweat flowed down his chest.

"What was that?" For the first time in a long time, her own words got her nervous. Half of her didn't want to know but the other half wanted to.

"Because we're friends. And friends buy stuffs for each other. Do they?" Hiro found an excuse. He was safe, for now.

Gogo didn't expect to hear that kind of answer but she didn't speak her thoughts anyway. The light in her dark world slowly faded but still, she held on to it. "Yeah, I guess you're right." And they continued doing the assignment.
