Our Night On Valentine's Day

After Jack waited for Toothiana to get ready and ate some healthy sandwiches her mom made, they walked to the cinema.

Jack wore a casual sweater, casual dark green jeans and casual red sneakers. Toothiana too wore a casual look - a big long T-shirt, tights and sandals.

"So you're going to prom?" Jack started the converstaion, smiling at her face, glowing under the moon.

"I don't think so. I took extra shifts at Tooth Palace. It's gonna be packed that night," she said.

Jack felt a little disappointed because he wouldn't be seeing one of his best friends at prom but what can he do. "Oh," he answered shortly.

"Hey," the girl said suddenly, making Jack look at her as they were walking. "Why do you really ask me to the movies?" She stopped walking even though the cinema was just across the street they were standing at. People were passing by and the colourful cinema lights sort of reflected on the night sky.

"Why? What's wrong?" Jack felt uneasy. He wasn't sure why too. It was his heart who told him what to do. He was just simply trust his instincts.

"It's been a while.." she trailed off. What she meant was they were almost strangers and now he wanted to hang out with her. And this made her feel like something was going on.

"Tooth, what would you do if you like two people at the same time and you just don't know who to pick?" He asked like he was a lost boy asking for money to ride a bus. So innocent. His poor heart kept on beating quickly. He was too scared to ask questions about love with one of his crushes.

"Just follow your heart. There's always one person that you're heart chooses," she said as though she was one of those girls who read romantic storybooks and depend their love lives on it.

"No but what if you're heart chooses two?" Jack didn't want to escape this conversation.

"Then you just can't see it yet. There's only one. Just one." She smiled sweetly. Jack felt warm looking at her standing in front of the bright city lights despite the traffic noise, he only heard her voice. And her eyes were buggy and glowing and made Jack felt even more confused.

"So tell me, who are the lucky girls?" Jack was flattered when she said 'lucky' but he needed to end this conversation. He got his answer even if it wasn't the best solution to him. But he didn't push her into answering his other questions, fearing she would sense something fishy.

"Hey look." He pointed to the cinema. Actually it was because he wanted to escape the nerve-wrecking moment but then he saw Elsa laughing off with Hans. Elsa saw Jack but didn't say anything. She just smiled at him and went inside with Hans. Tooth saw this too. Not just what happened. But she saw their story. She saw that Jack was in pain. She saw that he was suffering. She saw that he was scared. And lonely. And confused. She saw a lot at just one glance.

"You wanna go somewhere else?" Tooth suggested. Jack was happy that Tooth could sense his feelings. He really was glad to have a friend like her. And she felt the same way.

"Sure. Let's go somewhere else." He put an arm around Tooth's shoulders and walked to to have dinner instead. The night ended with them walking around the park and staring at the stars. Both of then felt tired eventually and went home.

For the first time ever, Jack hadn't thought about Elsa while he was with Tooth. They were too busy having fun. Too him, it felt like falling in love all over again.
