The sound of molten lava passing through the ground was the most dominant sound in the air. The air smelled like sulfer and ash. A little ledge was in front of us. Frodo stepped towards it, the chain holding the ring in his hands.

"Drop the ring!" I looked towards the voice, seeing Eglaneth, concern on her face.

"Drop it, Frodo!" a pudgy hobbit called behind me. Frodos glorious blue eyes looked into my eyes. They spoke of desperation.

"Drop the ring, my love" I said. He looked down at the ring, then to me.

"Im sorry" he whispered.

He slipped the ring on, disappearing.

My eyes flung open. My breathing slowed as I lay in the hammock that served as my bed. A bird chirped from my balcony and I relucently looked towards it, seeing the sun starting to rise. Red streaks of light lit up the sky.

I grinned, slowly walking towards it, my nightgown swishing around my feet. Memories of last night flooded to my mind. My lips burned in memory of Frodos kiss.

My hand went to the necklace which lay at my neck. Egolas necklace. I remember her words. Look into it and you will see you loved ones. So, I did. Frodo, Arwen, and father. My mother was also there.

I gasped, dropping the necklace. I hadnt seen my mother in over five years. Seeing her in this necklace made me want to see her. But I knew that was impossible.

I shook my head. What was I thinking? Nothing was impossible nowadays. An evil ring existed, a ring that desired to be at its masters finger. I shudder at the thought.

Two women entered the room-their names Milua and Muin- and they were my fathers maids. They carried a few pails of hot water in their hands.

I smiled at them and they smiled back. No one was cruel here in Rivendell. I found a soft blue dress in the back of my closet. Soft slippers accompanied it. I placed my clothes on the hammock, and entered the bathroom. Milua and Muin had just left, leaving me to bathe.

I scrubbed the dirt off myself, sitting in the water until it grew cold. Then I stood up, grabbing the towel that the two girls had left out. I dried myself off, slipping into the dress. The satin felt smooth against my skin and my hair fell in loose curls down my back.

I slipped into the slippers, and tied my hair back in a braid.

I felt twitchy, very nervous. I knew this meeting would end with the forming of the Fellowship, but one question remained.

Will I go with them?

"Strangers of distant lands, friends of old" Father began. I sat inbetween Eglaneth and Frodo, gently touching the teardrop necklace at my neck.

Elves filled most of the chairs, with men and dwarves alike. You could easily tell the difference between men and elves. Elves were bueatiful, glorious. Men were average looking.

Eglaneth looked over at me and then to Amaya who sat next to Legolas.

"Are they in love?"

Her green eyes sparkled. Frodo looked at me, grasping my hand. Eglaneth nodded slightly. I grinned. At least Amaya and Legolas got happiness.
