We travel for a long while, with Gandalf leading the way. Elemmire and I watch Rivendell a it becomes smaller and smaller, until we finally can't see it anymore. Everyone is quite silent, except for Amaya and Legolas, who talk softly about some of Amaya's adventures.

Finally, all the living beings of the group grow tired and we stop for a break. Sam starts cooking some sausages and Frodo is by Elemmire's side. Boromir decides to spar Merry and Pippin. Amaya and Legolas sit down with Sam. Aragorn and Amaya both realize that Merry and Pippin are missing something and spontaneously call "Move your feet."

Gimili argues with Gandalf about whether they should go through the Mines of Moria. Something dangerous lurks in Moria. Gandalf knows this and blatantly refuses to go through the Mines.

I can feel unease coming from Sam. He is examining something in the sky. I walk over to him and ask

"What is it that bothers you?"

Sam looks slightly surprised and points at something that appears to be a dark patch of clouds in the sky.

"What is it?" He asks.

"A wisp of a cloud!" Assures Gimili.

I notice what is different about the "cloud" and Boromir says it a second before I do.

"It is moving fast and against the wind." Boromir comments, which has to be the smartest thing he's said since I met him.

Then, Legolas figures out what it is.

"Crebain from Dunland!" He exclaims. "Hide!"

Everybody scrambles for cover. I find myself in a bush next to Sam, and I mouth "Good call." To him.

When the spies pass, we climb out of our hiding spots. Gandalf makes sure we have everyone and then informs us.

"The south passage is being watched. We must take the pass of Caradhas"

I hear groans from Boromir and Gimili. The Pass of Caradhas is on a mountain, and it is absolutely freezing. The cold will not affect me, but I hope the other's cloaks offer alot more protection than they look like they do.
