I could see the worry on the fellowships face. The Pass of Cadharas seemed dangerous, but it was the only way to escape Saurons and Sarumans spies. At least, thats what I think.
Turns out, the Pass of Cadharas was a mountain path. Great. Snow. I hate snow!! My fingers were already red. I shrugged that off, pulling my elven cloak closer to my body. It absorbed my warmth, sending it right back at me.
I could sense that everyone else was cold.
Everyone except for Egola of course. She never got cold. We continue on, and I trip falling face first into the snow. Boromir helps me up and I stray behind to Aragorn. I give him a tentative smile.
"My sister is sailing to the undying lands" I whisper, a tear falling from my eye. It froze upon my cheek.
"Do not cry, Elemmire, you will see your sister again, when you yourself sail...."
I cut him off.
"No, Aragorn, I will not. I am not going to sail. I will stay, with Frodo"
I look towards the ringbearer as I speak.
"Does he know of your affections?" he questions. I shake my head.
"La, Estel" I mutter. He grins and it was at that moment that Frodo slipped. He tumbled down the hill and I managed to stop him from rolling anymore, because he might have been killed if he would have continued.
"Are you alright?" I asked him, brushing off the snow that covered his clothes.
"Im fine, El" he replied. A brush rose to my cheeks. Normally, only people that were close to me called me El.
He reached out a hand, touching my cheek.
"Your beautiful when you blush"
How cliche sounding was that. And of course, that made me blush even more. I must be close to a tomato by now. Frodos eyes widened as he realized something.
"The ring!" he cried. He began to frantically search in the snow for it before I glanced at Boromir. He had the ring grasped in his hands.
"Boromir!" Egola cried from the sideline. Her green eyes were full of determination.
"It is strange that we must suffer and lose so much over such a small tiny object" he said. The ring was indeed such a tiny object. And we indeed lose so much over it. Egola lost her life, and I lost my family. Arwen was sailing to the undying lands and I had no idea what would happen to father.
"Boromir! Give Frodo back the ring" Aragorn says, snapping at him. His gruff voice seemed to snap Boromir out of the trance the ring has placed on him and he gives it to Frodo, ruffling his hair.
Aragorn dropped the hand that rested on his sword, and I saw Egola drop her hand. They were willing to kill for the safety of the ring. I shudder at the thought.
Would I have to kill?
A blizzard hit us as we headed up the mountain. My elven cloak offered me no comfort against the snow that drifted past it. Snow clumped in my hair, and my tears-caused by the cold wind-froze on my face. My ears hurt so bad, but I was thankful for the fact that I was an elf. I simply walked on top of the snow. Legolas and Amaya seemed grateful about that also.
