*Scorpius POV*

~Chapter 1~

I looked around at all of the muggles, going about with their business, before I pushed my cart through the barrier at Platform 9 3/4. When I got through, I took a moment to look at all of the families saying goodbye to their children about to board the Hogwarts Express. I felt a tinge of anger but I quickly pushed it to the back of my mind. My parents had dropped me off at Kings Cross because they didn't "have time" to worry about getting me to the train. I usually don't let the fact that my parents don't care about me get to me, but sometimes I can't help but think about how different life would be if they actually cared. I was snapped out of my thoughts when the whistle of the Hogwarts Express rang out, signaling that we were soon go depart. So I got behind the line of kids trying to get on board to find a seat. When I finally got on, I was looking, and hoping for an empty compartment. But of course with my luck, pretty much every compartment was full. I thought I was going to have to stand in the hall when someone called my name. I turned towards the voice to see James Potter waving me over. I walked over to his compartment to see what he wanted. "Hey Scorpius, you want to sit with me?" I didn't see any other available seats so I shrugged. He pulled the door open wider, allowing me to get in. Almost the whole compartment was full. Teddy, Rose, Albus, Hugo, and Lily all smiled at me. I waved and said "Hey guys." They all smiled and said, "Hey Scorpius!" I took a seat and listened while everyone continued their conversations. My attention was drawn to the doorway because I heard the sliding groan of the door. "Uhm hi. Do you mind if I set here? All the other compartments are full." A whimsical voice said. I was taken by surprise as soon as. I found the owner of the voice. This girl was beautiful. She had icy blue eyes, and blonde hair. Her skin was pale, but it fit her. James sat up. "Sure. My names James by the way. What's yours?." She closed the door, "Sarabeth. But you can call me Beth if you would like." She smiled and sat down across from me. James continued pointing us out and telling Beth our names. When he got to me, Beth looked me in the eyes. I felt something weird. I shoved it deep inside me and turned my head away. "So how did you get those bruises on your arms and neck?" Beth asked casually. I sent her a weird look, trying to hide the glare that was trying to show. "I fell down the stairs. And there were a lot of stairs." I said with a monotone voice. She gave me a suspicious look. I swear this girl is going to ruin my life.
