Morning Three

I wake up to a soft snoring sound right at my ear. When I turn around and open my eyes I see that Avi is spooning me. Although there's still a barrier of blankets between us I can clearly feel his comfortable proximity. That's different from the last two mornings when he had had his back turned towards me.

I look at my phone and sigh when I see that it's almost time to get up. I turn around fully and face him, smiling at his relaxed state. I'd really love to look at him for a long long time but we have a flight to catch.

"Avi" I say softly.

No reaction.

"Avi, we need to get up!" This time my voice is firmer.

No reaction.

I read out and stroke the side of his face, pushing a few strands of hair behind his ear. "Get up, Big Daddy."

He stirs and mumbles and I giggle at his sleppyness. The last two mornings it was him being awake first and me waking up shortly after him.

"What are you laughing at?" Avi wakes up slowly but is able to form a coherent sentence instantly. I'm impressed, he's better than I am in that regard.

"You being all cute and sleepy" I say lightheardedly and smirk at him.

"So I am cute?"

"Only when you're sleeping" I return playfully.

He chuckles. "And if I'm not sleeping?"

"You usually are very handsome. Strong and masculine and everything..." I say after thinking about it, shortly.

"Handsome? That's something I could deal with" he grins at me. "But you're cute, Mitchy!"

I giggle once more. "I knoooow. But thank you." I sigh and look at my phone once again. "I really need to go. It was great being with you, as always." I press a soft kiss on his cheek and get dressed quickly before leaving his room in a hurry.

"Bye, Big Daddy!"

I make the short way over to my own room. Scott is probably still asleep, he always counts on me to wake him up.

Therefore I'm surprised as I see him already up on his feet.

"Good Morning, Samantha" I say as I close the door behind me.

"Hello, Mitch!" Scott doesn't look up from his suitcase as he is searching f for the right clothes to wear.

Mitch? So he's annoyed or something like that.

"What's wrong, Scott? You look stressed out.

"I'm not stressed out. Not at all. I'm just wondering why my best friend, the one I've been sharing a hotel room with since the first day of tour, suddenly decides to tiptoe out of said room three nights in a row!" He finally looks up and our gazes meet. I probably look as if I was caught red-handed.

"I thought you were already asleep?"

He snorts. "Yes I was asleep, but I tend to wake up quite a couple of times at night. Which you don't notice normally since you're a heavy sleeper" he sighs. "Where were you" he asks with a much softer voice.

"That's none of your business. I'm an adult I can go wherever I want to go" I sass, because he's annoying me.

He flinches and realises that he made a mistake with being rude towards me. "I was just worried to see you not being here, Mitch. You could have said something or left a note."

"Alright, the next time I'm leaving I'm going to do so, are you satisfied?" I'm still a little bit snappy, because that's not how I wanted to start this morning.

"Yes I am satisfied" Scott knows better than to question me further. He smiles at me and I return it, ending our little argument.

That's the good thing about our friendship. When we're disagreeing about something, we usually bitch at each other for a while and just go back to normal once everything is said.

He doesn't even want to know where I went, anymore. I could've told him, yes. But how would that have sounded? "Scott, I stayed with Avi for three days in a row, because we both couldn't sleep alone but better together."  Pathetic! No, that's something he doesn't have to know.

I smile at him once again, while I start to get dressed in comfortable clothes for our flight.
