I manage to be ready at 11:55. Finding the right outfit wasn't that easy. Overall comfortable but especially for the shoes. In the end I'm wearing jeans and the oversized flannel Avi bought when we were out shopping for the first time. Together with my favourite sneakers, a jeans jacket and my bag I'm all set.

"Are you heading out?" Scott asks me when I make my way down the stairs.

"Yep, Avi should be here any minute" I return and look into the mirror one last time, arranging my hair.

"You look flawless" Scott remarks. "You always do!"

I beam at him. "Thank you. I wonder what Avi's up to." Indeed, I have thought about the date last night before falling asleep and this morning while getting ready. I still don't know what we're going to do and I can't wait to find out.

"And I can't wait for you to tell me everything" Scott returns and places a peck on my forehead. "Have fun! I'm staying at Alex's for the night so I'll see you tomorrow? I can feed Wyatt before I go."

"Good to know. I'll make sure to come home or have Avi stay over so I can take care of him in the morning. See you later" I wave at him and then walk out of the door into the warm LA noon.

I only have to wait two minutes until Avi pulls up next to me. I open the door of his car and get comfortable in the passenger seat.

"Hey, Queen" he says softly and leans over to press a kiss on my lips.

"Hey, Big Daddy." I return the kiss and beam at him. "So where are we going?"

"To a special place" he returns with a smile on his face.

"Take me there!" I know instinctively that he won't tell me more, so I don't bother asking.

"I will. But maybe we'll get you a coffee first? Getting there will take some time" Avi offers, already driving in the direction of the next Starbucks.

"I won't say no to coffee" I return with a smile on my face.

The ride is not as long as I expect it to be. A little bit more than half an hour later, Avi parks the car and opens the door for me in a gentlemanly way.

I get out and look around. We're literally in the middle of nothingness. "So where is this secret place of yours?" I want to know. Don't get me wrong, I trust Avi to surprise me with wherever he's taking me but this doesn't really look like something special.

"Be patient, Babe. You'll find out in time" He returns while getting a huge backpack out of the car. "That's the closest we can get by car, but it's not that far. Only a couple of miles."

"Miles?" I look at him with wide eyes. "I mean I am wearing comfortable shoes and everything but you could've told me that you're taking me on a freaking hiking trip! You know that I hate them!" The words are out of my mouth before I can stop them and I'm shocked. "Sorry, I didn't mean to. God I ruined the date, didn't I?" I look down on the ground in shame.

I expect Avi to flip or get in the car and leave me here, but he doesn't. Instead he walks up to me and places a hand in the back of my neck. "Hey, Mitchie, look at me please" he urges and I do so. His eyes which never fail to tell me exactly how he's feeling look surprisingly normal.

"You're not mad?"

"No, not at all. You certainly overreacted but I lied about the hiking thing. We surely have to walk a little bit, but it's not miles I usually need twenty minutes to get there" he says softly. "I know you hate hiking but is that okay for you? It's more a stroll than anything else. And I promise to you that it'll be worth the walk."

I nod. "Yes, of course. I'm sorry for lashing out."

"I already told you that it's okay, Mitchie" he repeats with a smile on his face and kisses my lips softly. "Now come on, let's get going." He grabs my hand and together we start to walk.

Ten minutes into the walk I have to admit that I don't hate it that much. He was right, it's not like a hiking tour, we're not climbing a mountain or else. Plus I'm curious to see where he'll take me. We walk in comfortable silence and I really love seeing him looking happy and one with nature.

"Almost there, Mitch" he says after a few more minutes. "Just over the little hill in front of us."

I nod and flash him a smile.

I don't really know what to expect but once we made it over tiny hill I gasp. "That's... beautiful!" Well, beautiful is not entirely the right word to describe the sight in front of me. We're at the cliffs in the middle of nothing. No people, buildings are only visible if you look I one specific direction of the coast. Yes, the right word to describe this sight would probably be breathtaking.

"So you like it, then. Come on, we still have to walk a few metres over there" Avi says and softly pulls at my hand.

He leads me to a huge stone a good ten metres away from the edge and sits down. I do the same and take a deep breath of the fresh air.

"I come here often. It's the perfect place to just sit and unwind" he says quietly and puts an arm around my body, holding me close. "I always wanted to take someone here with me to show them this place. But I wanted this to be something just for me and... the person. You know, the kind of person people usually call the one."

I glance at him. He's looking into the distance, a small smile is forming on his face. "So you're saying that..."

"I can imagine this being something to last, Mitch. I'm in for long shot. I love you with all your flaws. God I even found your little breakout earlier adorable" he says.

I giggle. "Damn, I was really angry for a moment and you found it adorable?"

He chuckles. "Yeah. And I wasn't really planning on giving such a sappy speech. I just wanted to take you here and have some alone time before the tour starts" he confesses.

I rest my head against his shoulder. "I don't mind you being sappy at all. It feels good to hear such words. You know that I'm not good at words. At least not as good as you are. But..." I look up again and search his eyes. "But I know how to say three words and mean them, Avi. I love you." I smile at him and then press my lips on his softly, putting all my feelings into the kiss.
