"Mitch? Babe? Can you sit up for a second? I just want to put a shirt on you."
Avi's voice pulls me back into consciousness and I lift my heavy eyelids to look at him.
"Hi" I croak out, my throat feeling rough once again.
"Hey" he answers, smiling at me kindly, holding up a huge t-shirt and sweatpants. "Shall we try to get you dressed?"
I nod and sit up slowly. With his help I'm dressed within a few minutes.
"Can you stand up and walk or shall I carry you" Avi asks.
I shrug my shoulders. "Dunno but feel still dizzy" I return, my eyes threatening to close, because I'm still feeling so tired.
"I'll carry you" Avi decides. "Just hold on to me, I'll do the rest."
I wrap my arms around his neck as he bends down to lift me up and snuggle up close to him, breathing in his masculine scent. It feels comfortable, so comfortable that I stop fighting the urge to close my eyes and slip away.

When I come to myself again, I'm in my own bed. I rub at my eyes and stretch my arms.
"Mitch, you're awake."
I turn around to see Avi sitting on the armchair in the corner of my room. He puts away a book and moves over to sit on the edge of the bed next to me.
"How are you?"
"Better..." I answer. My voice still sounds rough and scratchy but my head isn't pounding anymore and the cramps in my stomach have more or less ceased.
He smiles and softly caresses my cheek. "You look better, as well. Do you need something? Water? Food?"
"Water! And a shower or a bath? I feel horrible" I ask, slowly sitting up. "I don't feel that dizzy anymore."
Avi hands me a glass of water and sighs. "Are you okay with me joining? I don't want you to go alone for safety reasons."
I empty the while glass in one shot before answering. "Of course. I just want to get rid of feeling vomit and everything else on my body, you know?"
"I understand, Mitch. Shall we get you all cleaned up right now and have dinner afterwards? Alex has prepared chicken soup for the two of you, you need to get something in your stomach..."
I cringe, the idea of eating is not sounding too tempting at the moment. I don't want to throw up again, but Avi's right, I need some nutrition. "Yes, shower and soup" I confirm and move towards the edge of the bed. "Will you help me?" I hold out my hand and slowly but surely get up from the bed. I'm still a little bit wobbly on my feet and lean on Avi as we make our way into the bathroom.
An hour later I'm in bed again, clean, with some delicious chicken soup in my now calm stomach and Avi by my side.
"Do you need to sleep more?" he wants to know as I cuddle up against him.
I shake my head. "No, I'm okay for now" I return. "Thank you for helping me today."
Avi kisses the top of my head and shakes his head. "Not for that. You'd do the same for me."
"Minus the carrying part..." I chuckle slightly and Avi joins in.
"You're unbelievable, Mitchy" he states. "Anyway, how are you feeling? What about your memories?"
I sigh and shrug my shoulders. "Nothing! There still is a total blackout from the moment I left Scott and Tyler up to the moment I woke up today. Tyler has told me everything from his point of view but nothing rings a bell!"
"What has he told you? What did happen? I only know that you were drugged."
I look up at him. "Tyler told me that the barkeeper spiked the shots Scott and I had. I don't know where and when but I must've passed out. Other staff members caught him as he was..." I stop at that point, not able to continue. It was one thing hearing the story but telling it from my point of view makes it seem so much more realistic.
"What?" Avi jerks up and looks directly into my eyes. "Don't tell me this bastard-"
"He didn't" I interrupt his sentence. "He was undressing me, but they found me before he could do real damage." I shake my head. "It's just so surreal learning all these things about what happened to me but not remembering." I feel tears creeping up my eyes. "I know that it's maybe for the better that I don't remember a thing, because the thought of what could've happened is scaring me. Yet, I feel... I don't know, I'm just so confused, Avi."
"Babe, shh, I've got you" he soothes me, holding me tight while I cry myself out against his chest.
After a while I calmed down enough to speak again. "Avi? Will you stay with me tonight? Can you hold me, I need you" I mumble.
He puts his hand on my cheek and softly moves my head up so that our eyes make contact. "Babe, you don't have to ask. I'll be there for you, whenever you need me!"
I smile weakly at him. "Thank you. And sorry that we couldn't go out today."
"It wasn't your fault! Plus we can always redo it. How about tomorrow or Sunday, depending on how you're feeling?"
"Yes, definitely. We'll see about it in the morning, though, I'm exhausted. How can I be so sleepy after basically sleeping the whole day" I wonder, already snuggling up into the blanket.
"The drugs had a huge effect on your body. I talked to Alex while I was getting our dinner, Scott has been sleeping the whole day, too, so don't worry" Avi explains, getting comfortable while still holding me inside his arms. "And sleeping it off is the best thing you can do. You'll feel much better tomorrow."
"Mmhm..." I hum my agreement and lean up to give him a good night kiss, sighing content as I melt into his embrace. "Night, Big Daddy."
"Sleep tight, Queen."
